I’ll be honest. I hate OU but I don’t hate OU wrestling. I watch their duals. I cheer for their wrestlers (unless they are wrestling us). I want them to get better. Honestly, I feel sorry for their wrestlers because of the lack of interest of their fans and athletic department. They deserve more support. They need to be better to help improve the Big 12. We need all the other schools in this conference to be better against the BIG, especially now that we only have 9 teams in the conference.

Maybe sprat had plateaued, which does happen with most college wrestlers. He is not as exciting as he once was. I realize, not every wrestler can wrestle like Jax but, Sprat did beat Jax and Bo a couple of years ago, with his super aggressive and unpredictable style. yes, they were younger high schoolers then, but they were already beating college age wrestlers. Could be that the safe, smart wrestling is a boring as H€ll.

The finals were won on a stall call. As a weight, it had the lowest bonus % of all weights.
Also, Troy is now a senior. Lots of homework can be done on him by his opponents.
Somebody in wrestling talked about the 5 worst portal deals in the last 3 years and we have had lots of good moves but we were the worst which did not surprise me. I have thought if I gave Oklahoma State a lot of money to get Figueroa, I would be upset. That is bad when you run out of gas after 2 minutes of wrestling.
I’m not sure what you mean by him not being as exciting as before, his style has hardly changed at all. I think you just have a different picture in your mind that must be based solely on his Bo/Jax matches—two of the wildest/most aggressive wrestlers out there which is obviously going to make those matches more exciting. Not to mention the matches were in freestyle which in general has more action in neutral
Pretty wild how Fig not panning out played a part in allowing OSU fans to watch Jax win a natty a year early.
I mean if you're singling out Figs as the worst singular transfer in terms of placement expectations (former NCAA champ --> can't finish a match) then sure maybe that's the "worst deal" but we don't know the details and he's far from the only person that transferred and underperformed.
On the whole though remember Hamiti and Hendrickson won titles! Ryder AA'ed, Fish AA'ed, Swid AA'ed, Cam AA'ed, Facundo didn't score a lot at the tournament but did well during the regular season, Figs was a bust. All in all I call that a pretty big win overall.
@Corby2 posted on another site of a rumor of Lorenzo Norman to PSU. He also said it didn't make much sense, because.... if that turned out to be true, PSU would have at 174 and 184:

If you dont think psu is in the business of getting guys so that others (us) dont, youre wrong.
It’s been a little surprising to not see OSU reported as hosting or contacting any portal guys thus far. I would take that to mean:
1. Any contact has yet to be reported
2. The staff is content with who they have in the room/coming in, even at 174 & 184, or
3. They are waiting to see what the secondary round of portal entries brings. Guys who hit the portal because their “replacement” was brought in à la Ryder at PSU.
