Agents asking questions. Not sure how they can lid that.
And yeah, college sports are a complete mess right now. Have to believe fans will start dipping out. Crazy to think professional sports have more solid rosters to follow.
I have gone to more professional contests than Iowa games, by far, over the last 5 years.

I think Anon is full of sheet. I'd be surprised if we lose more than two. Rodriguez for sure and maybe Johnson, although with her knees if might be hard to find a new home. Iowa's family circle is tight. Every girl has the summer to get better. Hayes will get better with another summer playing against Ava. Houston needs to put up 100 threes a day. Levin and Mallegni are contributors as backups.

My starting five depending on transfers are:

PG - Chit Chat - Portal Addition
SG - Addie Deal - Stremlow/Levin
SF - Taylor Stremlow - Portal Add/Houston
PF - McKenna Woliczko - Houston/Mallegni
C - Ava Heiden - Layla Hayes).

That is a sweet 16/elite eight starting five.
Boy was I wrong about the family circle two weeks ago. Five have hit the portal, not 2. Still surprised Addie left, probably a starter for the 26-27 season (money had to be the issue). Levin was also a big surprise, guess she wants to play. Johnson and Rodriguez no surprise. Mallegni a bit surprised. My starting five prediction doesn't change much. Will need a starter at the two or three. Need PG, CG, WF and PF to bring the roster to 10. May bring in five.

Find an international player.

JJ and her staff have to explore the international base of players. as of now, all of these women are available in the portal.

Sophie Burrows Australia 6'2" guard
Lara Somfai Australia 6'3" forward
Elisa Mevious Germany 5'10" guard
Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu (from Maryland) England 6'3"
Ines Sotelo Spain 6'3" F/C

They are certainly as good, if not better, than Kenzie Hare from Iowa State.
As evidenced by the NBA, Europe is the place to find fundamentally sound and well disciplined athletes--> especially the women.

Jan got some work to do for sure. Will sit back and see how she fills out the roster

As I stated last week in my long discussions with @Anon1750875978, the Hawkeyes have money, opportunity and a core to work with. The will have a better team after the portal than we had at the end of the season. We will likely end up with at least 1 high end player.

Speiser I would personally put at 60%. Its either us or TCU and we likely have more money and we have clear opportunity. We have a couple visits scheduled with some depth players as well (Kenzie Hare and likely Thompson).

Not sure we can say 100% we will have a better team than we had last year.....we can just wait and see if Jan can get in the pieces for a better team or not

So here is some updated money information.

K State had a budget for wbb of $850k. Likely part of the reason Speiser is leaving. Wolizcko is getting 500k. Iowa's budget is somewhere in the $3-$5 million is my guess.

Ava is likely commanding a large number (750k). Chit Chat will likely get a bump to 400k or more. Stremlow - maybe 300k, Houston - maybe 250k range, Hays (150-200k). By my number we are likely at $2.3 million roughly with a good chunk to play with. Lets just go with $1.7 million. Speiser could take 400k-500k and that still leaves us with around a million to play with.

Edit: Since Jonesy thinks my number is too low on Stremlow LOL

I don't think this has anything to do with the "family circle."

These are young women who want to play. They want to see the court. If Johnson, Mellegni, and Levin aren't going to see the floor much in a year like this, they prob won't much next year, either. Let them go hoop. They'll always have the support from their former teammates.

Do you have a link/source for this? I ask only because another poster described Dani Carnegie as CCW’s best friend.
lol - they are good friends. Its been posted in other places. In either case it gives us a connection.

Cyclone fan?
Nope...past football season tix, both kids graduated Iowa.
Grandchild graduating Iowa in 6 weeks.

Ah, yes...if someone doesn't think everything is great...they're not a fan.

You're a joke.
Regardless of your opinion, unless Jensen can prove she's able to develop the guards, the team will struggle.
The UCLA game vividly showed that weakness.
Caitlin Clark ain't walking through the door again.

I doubt if Jan is worried about proving anything to you.

JJ doesn't give a shiit about any random fans.
Why would she?

My whole beef is there was no coaching search when Bluder retired.
At the time, Iowa is/was a prime job destination.
Instead, Beth took the easiest path. The likely list of applicants would have been impressive.
That's it.
That was 2 years ago. Get over yourself. Jan deserved an opportunity after everything she has done for the program, and you know what she has done pretty dang well. You can't change the decision 2 years ago so just keep your opinions on it to yourself.

A proven assistant coming off back-to-back Final Four/Runner-up runs will never be enough for him.
