Perusing another board, I saw a post asking what ever happened to RutgersAl. For those youngins out there RutgersAl was a legendary, long-time poster on Rutgers message boards, particularly the Scarlet Nation forum on Rivals. He was widely known for his extreme "homerism" and polarizing takes.
While there are often rumors about his status, in recent years he has gone quiet. He was a fixture on Rutgers forums for over 20 years. He was described by fellow fans as the "most unashamed homer fan" of any college team, often posting wildly optimistic or controversial defenses of the program. The thing was, while he often posted With caps, wild grammar, and various characters, he was always respectful of other teams. Newly released evidence tracked RutgersAl making a trip to Iowa several years ago on his way to visit the "Field of Dreams". Apparently he never made it as his car was found in a ditch outside of Des Moines. There was no sign of RutgersAl as he apparently wandered away from the scene of the accident. There was small traces of blood on the steering wheel which police assumed resulted in a likely concussion and since no trace of RutgerAl has since been identified, it is theorized that RutgersAl suffered some type of amnesia. Recently on the Rutgers board, it has been suggested that RutgersAl is in fact Iron Hawk. After awakening from the accident with no recollection of who he was he assumed a new identity. He became an Iowa fan with the same tendencies he had in New Jersey but the trauma caused him to have a dark side, still using the same grammar, punctuation, and caps, but with a very mean view of competitors. Perhaps one day Iron Hawk's memory will fully return and RutgersAl will be restored. Its just a theory, but I don't have a better theory for the existence of Iron Hawk.
