Recruiting high school kids and the portal, in the eyes of a 55 year old fan. No joy. Hate all of it. Put a team together however you have to do it. Win games…don’t care how.
Actually, that was really smart move by that Kentucky fan because it flushed him outHe's literally going to Kansas that's why he's yapping but Kentucky fans like that are embarrassing
Hell no, AJ put up 25ppg, highly doubt TS does that.Weird thread comments guys.
Dude is 18 and millions of dollars on the line.
I also think he goes to Kansas, and I also think if he wants some ridiculous number like $6 to $8 million we would be better off spending that on 2 superstars portal guys equivalent to yaxel or something.
That said... all this inference that he is some bad kid, ego this or that, drama this that....yall are just making up crap out of thin air and I still want the number 1 recruit regardless as long as its not over paying for him.
If we get stokes and paid $7 mil or some ridiculous number, to me that will be as stupid as paying $2 mil for Jaden Q and his bum knee. Even Dybunsta only get 4 mil i think and Stokes isnt as good... he probably would have been only top ten in this stacked class but he's number 1 in a weaker class..
Still want him though, he's a player
So many trolls on Twitter
Yes. Hopefully the fanbase pushes away more top recruits, since the current staff has really killed it with recruiting...Actually, that was really smart move by that Kentucky fan because it flushed him out
I'm not trying to be morbid, but I don't understand how that relates to this situation at all.Meanwhile, 18 year olds are sitting in the Middle East wondering if they will come home in a body bag or see their moms again. All of sports sucks.
It doesn't. All the brave young men and women that are over there are doing it by choice. We didn't have a military draft. The kids that are playing D1 college Hoop are often there because God Blessed them with physical ability and genetics that a very small percentage of the population have. There's no reason to hate on the athletes, and its frankly hypocritical because the person doing the complaining likely watches several hours a week of the very kids he is dogging outI'm not trying to be morbid, but I don't understand how that relates to this situation at all.
IMO, the kids aren't in the wrong. They aren't holding out or threatening strike, and even if they did, colleges have the ability to say no. But let's be honest....no fan of UK would have given a diddly squat about the $22M number if it had resulted in a Championship...and if UK stood up and said "We refuse to pay one cent to NIL" and the team fielded a hard working group of kids that went 6-26 the entire fanbase would go on tiltYou know I'm 61 years old. It's absolutely blown my mind how much these young kids are getting paid to play college ball. They're going to make in about an 8-9 months time frame more money than most folks my age have made in their entire life. Major college sports has turned into a business, big business. I don't think that's a good thing but it is what it's become.

Yeah but how do you do that with a huge offer on the table to Stokes?I'd be okay to prioritize Juke Harris instead...
I dunno man. Dude seems a bit unlikable. "Rushing me" an "Y'all make me laugh."
I get its a big decision but he's about to make more money than most 18 year olds ever see.
I think he's KU Bound and that's gonna suck but he seems to have an attitude
Maybe it's just me but if my big decision was who would pay me millions I would be pretty damn happy and not worry about what anyone said.Maybe he is a headcase, but I don't get it from this post...I mean, ya'll seem to be completely overlooking the fact that some random UK fan he doesn't know, made a tik tok post and completely lied about him committing to UK? How is he supposed to respond to that? If you went inot work tomorrow and found out your coworker told your boss you took a job at a different company, I bet your reaction would be much stronger than his wasa.

Agree ... praying that the recruiting challenges to this point are not entirely due to Pope himself, and that he is able to get it shored up and get the right guys this time around. I'd be lying if I said I was optimistic that it happens, but def NOT hoping that he fails. That would mean another season like the last one, and I don't know if I can endure that again! Here is the thing about that....I did not want Pope when he was hired, not one bit. At the end of this season, I said he needed to be fired now that MB was gone and I meant it. But what I will NOT, absolutely not do, is spend the next tear dogging the dude out unless he deserves it based on this season. He is sucking *** right now in recruiting, and I let him have it because of it. But if he kills it in the portal, I will give him credit for it. I am going to pull for is every single game just like last season and if we go out and have a great season, finish top 3 in the SEC and make the Elite 8 or better, then I will be back on board with giving him another year. What makes me sick is the number of "fans" on this board that will really be rooting for us to have a terrible year next season just to see the guy go
Agree. I’d rather save the money overpay a bit for the top portal guys.Do NOT want this dude anywhere near Lexington. Team cancer and drama queen waiting to happen.
Ignore it. And that’s not a real comparison. He’s not employed by anyone yet.Maybe he is a headcase, but I don't get it from this post...I mean, ya'll seem to be completely overlooking the fact that some random UK fan he doesn't know, made a tik tok post and completely lied about him committing to UK?
