Taryn Hatcher (who was, among other things, the in-stadium reporter for broadcasts of Phillies games) is, unfortunately, out at NBC Sports Philadelphia. This is said to have been a "standard contract dispute," although it might also have involved the amount of "commitment" she was willing to make. As a regular Phillies game-watcher, I am disappointed; she was really good in addition to being really beautiful. https://awfulannouncing.com/local-n...s-philadelphia-contract-expired-phillies.html

She was a good reporter. She’ll find a good job somewhere.

There's s really no need for a stadium reporter at a baseball game. (I'm not sure there is for any sport.) But what I don't understand is why Taryn wasn't part of post-game shows the way Ashlyn Sullivan and Amy Fadooli are for NBCSP.

I guess what I’m not understanding with this dismissal is what new ground are they expecting to break with the sideline reporter position? Are they planning something completely different (not like Monty Python)? Generally these things are about cost cutting or someone new in management bringing in someone they want. The official explanations are bs.

It sounds like they don't want a sideline reporter and that they weren't willing to find another place for her (for instance on the post-game shows). It's Philly's loss, but I am sure she will find another job that's at least as prestigious.

You do what you have to do to stay in sports media now. Michelle McMahon from BTN moved on to become the studio lead/main announcer for the Pickleball Channel. I have so many different sports channels on my streaming service now it's hard to keep up. Maybe she will be on Padel Channel soon. :)

Honestly total fail by RU to not have her on BTN as a regular. All these reporters that played baseball at Michigan State in 2002 all over BTN, we don’t have enough representation. We are not taking advantage of the attention she would bring to RU. Get her calling womens games, football sideline reporter, on the Big Show, come on. Need someone with vision (Keli?) to get this going but wonder if anyone in athletics administration even thinks like this

How does Rutgers get her hired by BTN?
