Brother, as much as I love baseball.. I’ve about quit posting in these game threads. Half of the folks bitching aren’t here when things are good, and the other half bitching have never played at any level higher than their local rec league.

This is baseball. The fact that we are 11-4 in the league is insanely good. We are going to lose games. Deal with it. Suck it up and move on. Are we perfect? Nowhere close but we are trying to get better every game.
Yeah I’ve stayed off these threads during games. Too toxic.
I just come read the comments after the games.
Yeah, the toxicity comes from folks trying to critique what and why a pitcher is missing spots or what pitches they throw while having not one actual clue why the sequencing is the way it is. My favorite is when people claim our approach at the plate is bad but they couldn’t tell you and make sense of what an approach at the plate actually is. “Why would you swing at the first pitch after a walk” probably because it was a middle-middle fastball. That’s why.
I just hate when things are spoken out of left field when there isn’t a rational thought or reason as to why they’re saying what they do. So, I’ll be in the shadows from now on.
I’ve already explained it. Frustration from almost handing BC this game (and series). If that had happened we would have
- Lost two meaningful series at home (UVA and BC)
- “Tied” our only meaningful non-conf series against a borderline 2/3 seed
- Swept two ACC teams whose RPIs are fading…fast and 8 of our 10 ACC wins would have been against teams well below .500 in ACC play.
We had a gutsy performance to save the series and hold serve but we now have 3 of the next 5 on the road and GT at home. Fortunately I think we have a good shot in all five of those series, if we piece it together and start playing more consistently. It’s just going to catch up with us though if we don’t.
That’s all I was venting about, in fewer words.
Not related to the quoted post above, but I don’t understand why people got so uptight about game threads (feels like it started in the late Roy/Mack 2.0 era) isn’t it just supposed to be a place to ride the highs and lows of a game out? Why else would you be reading a game thread?

You were right! He was dang good. I ran into some very nice BC fans leaving the game who actually knew him. Apparently he’s from Cape Cod, and his dream was to play at BC. Oh well!
Hate I missed yesterday’s game. Couldn’t be helped though. Sounds like it was a great comeback win though just by reading this thread
I don't understand the need some people have to trash our players and coaches whenever something bad happens, or to badmouth the teams we beat in order to make our wins look less favorable.
You want me to lie and say sweeping two teams in the bottom third of the ACC with a combined 1 quad 1 win is enough for our resume to earn a regional, much less a top 8, spot? We absolutely could not have afforded to lose a second home ACC series yesterday.
No, I just don't understand the need to denigrate our opponents in what appears to be an attempt to make us look worse.
We just won back to back series against teams ranked in the top 25 and are currently ranked 6th in the nation. Just enjoy the ride and stop bitching about everything
This is the post of the thread. Some fo the stuff posted and that some continue to post is ridiculous. I get critical. I don't get the personal stuff and it's enlightening not to the subject of the post, but to the person posting.
Remember who reads the boards and if you wouldn't say it to said person's face or to their people, don't post it here. If you would, well there's the opportunity any game day....lol
Just think first and listen to Jimmy......it'll make this place a better place and you won't look like rear end when the game is over.
