UK gifted UCONN and Kevin Ollie the title in 2014. UConn fired him like 3 years later.

the losers whine with excuses while the winners get to go home and F the prom queen. UCONN is a modern day UCLA. Hurley is Wooden. It sucks but it is what it is. They’ve had a rabbits foot clearly sewn into their *** and it’s sickening. I can easily see that smug POS Hurley cutting the nets tomorrow. They will surpass Kentucky in titles in the next five years. Time for UK fans to shut up about Duke and UNC. The real threat is Connecticut regardless of what they did prior to 1999. They are a GD National Championship factory!

He’s on tape calling out exactly what Flagg would do, that was paying attention to the tape and his game. He made some great adjustments for defense in the second half(which to give him credit he seems to always have us play better in second halves) and how we started running offense.
He called that Flagg would turn it over?

I was fooled by Pope early last year too.

It’s like ‘98. I gave Tubby all the credit in the world for that title. Then as time went on it was painfully obvious that Tubby had nothing to do with that win.

Same with Pope. He just got lucky as hell early. Beat dUKe and Gonzaga by pure dumb luck.

By the time we went to MSG he was showing who he us as coach. Of course the excuse was Chandler getting engaged.

Then went 11-9 or so in the SEC including the tournament where we didn’t even show up to play Alabama.

Then after beating Tn twice we didn’t show in the NCAA against them.

And that’s the best season on his entire coaching resume.

That a$$hole took 3 likely titles from us - 2011, 2015, and 2017.

He started in April with no players. Hence any "rational" person...
Dusty May says otherwise about "rational" as well as Indiana and their 2nd year football coach winning the national title easily. Both examples also good their first years. NIL Era is different, and if you have Kentucky's bank roll to get the players you want, there are no excuses.

You are wrong .... see how that works. You say ridiculous with no rebuttal argument and i just fire some rhetoric back, "you are wrong."
No, its ridiculous because you take examples that have zero to do with our situation. Indiana Football? We are talking Hoops dude. Dusty May? He went 27-10 and S16 year one. Poeo went 24-12 and S16. No one is defending Pope vs May, the argument was did Pope have a good first year or bad one. He had the same damn first season Pope did lol

May won the big 10 tournament is first year and finished 2nd.. big difference 27-10 vs a 6th place finish in the SEC and no tournament success in conference and 12 losses...
It's not even an Average season by kentucky standards... the only part that was average by kentucky standards was a sweet 16 which we have been to 45 or 46 of those.

I brought up football because it shows with NIL era you can build a team and win a title in year 2 which Michigan may do and Indiana did do.

What about Scheyer at Duke in his first season 27-9, won ACC tournament, 3rd place conference finish.

If you wanted to make a counter argument, you should have brought up the fact Kentucky played a harder SOS and the sec was the best conference of all time, but you couldn't even think of that.

All these other coaches improved in year 2.

Scheyer? LMFAO, are you REALLY comparing the situation Scheyer came into to the heaping pile of dung Pope took over? No one is defending Pope, but fair is fair, he was terrible yeat two, but he was good year one by anyone who isn't deranged standards

Average ... just not going to call it good. None of that matters though ... what is the argument you have? That pope needs year 3 or year 4?

I have seen enough and Don't think he would ever do better than a sweet 16 and 25 win season. He has a large body of work to judge.

There were other coaches we could have hired that had at least won more than 25 games before, had a top 50 defense before, won their conference or conference tournament before, heck just won ONE ncaa game.
