Thank you @nike and @caitlinclark22 for sending me the Caitlin Clark Rookie of the Year shoes. It was a honor being able to wear them in the Mcdaag game and being the 2nd person to have them except for Caitlin herself!

Dave is the founder of Barstool Sports. The guy is really rich. He flew in to Iowa City for at least one game during Caitlin's senior year, so they know each other. Dave also goes to Indiana Fever games. They have stayed in touch over the last couple of years.

Well, Caitlin has now blocked Dave on Twitter, because Dave, after Connor called into his show saying "I don't like what you are saying about my dad," was complimentary of Ben McCollum; Dave simply said things like Ben is doing something in year 1 that Fran didn't do in 15 years. That pissed Connor off and he must have told Caitlin about it and Caitlin decided to block Dave on Twitter.

Seems pretty petty for Caitlin to block Dave on social media for this; I really hope Connor is worth it.

Who knows—maybe she is as butt hurt as Connor about Fran being fired and hides it better. But here are my thoughts…

If your SO makes you feel like you can’t even publicly support your own college, and you’re dropping friends because they can’t handle their own jealousy and inadequacy, that’s a toxic relationship—plain and simple. Time to run.

If she was so butt hurt why did she send the Iowa men’s team shoes before the season started?

I will always be a Caitlin supporter, she did great things for Hawkeye nation. Nice gesture allowing McKenna to wear her shoes. She has gone on to bigger and better things.

She can't help that she has a boat anchor of a boyfriend who doesn't keep his pie hole shut. The truth is, his Dad had overstayed his welcome at Iowa. The last two years he stood around with his hands in his pockets. He would have been gone earlier if Barta hadn't signed him to a multiyear deal with a huge buyout.

Caitlin is sticking behind her man, so be it. She may come to realize that Ben is good for the university that she loves. McCollum has done more to engage the Iowa community in one year than Fran did in 15 years.

Oh, for what it's worth, Portnoy is a big mouth punk. He and Michigan go good together. I never watch the guy.

You’re still completely missing the point, and I’ve explained it more than clearly enough. I shouldn’t have to dumb it down anymore than it already is, yet here you are saying “hold my beer….”

Calling me “sensitive” doesn’t really land when your response shows either a lack of reading comprehension or a willingness to twist what was said.

At this point, it’s not worth my time to keep engaging while you throw out assumptions about someone you don’t know. Believe whatever you want. For the record, I don’t even have social media.

I always took that stance as well, but for the record, THIS site is "social media"....

maybe her and Connor's beef is mostly with Beth; who the heck knows....

they should understand, however, the coaching business; someone (Todd Lickliter) got fired in order for Fran to get hired in 2010. Fran had 15 years at Iowa; he was paid tens of millions to coach the Hawkeyes. It was time for a coaching change, whether Connor or Caitlin like it or not.
