People still bring up that Duke game where we barely won early in the season as if it was a championship game. Defending a coach with a ceiling of S16 in their entire career is insane.
Lmao I notice you didn’t talk anymore **** after I argued with you in that thread a few days ago. Now you wanna talk **** days later. Lmao why don’t you bump that thread, clown.

Didn’t even know you kept replying. Do a quick google search of Popes record as a head coach and come back and tell me what it is. You can use all time, or just BYU or just UK whatever you want. Let me know what you find.

As I said.. they have found your thread criticizing Pope and their neat is now buzzing. They come with no logic and some even say his time before UK doesn’t matter. When you bring up that his winning percentage is the same at UK you are met with hostility that John Calipari left him with no players! You then remind them that Pope had 22 million and could choose from the thousands of players in the portal but they then try to even dispute that information.

Uconn’s 2014 title remains the most mind shattering title win in any major spectator sport i’ve witnessed in my lifetime. It defies all logic.

Kevin Ollie, who was so bad after that Uconn fans and admins dug up and turned in dirt on themselves just to get rid of him, in 6 straight games beat:

Phil Martelli (2004 ap coach of the year)
Jay Wright (eventual multi national title winner and former national coach of the year winner)
Fred Hoiberg (2026 ap coach of the year)
Tom Izzo (national champion, active Hall of famer and former ap coach of the year)
Billy Donovan (2 time national champion, 5th highest tournament winning % in history and likely Hall of famer) and ofcourse
John Calipari (3 time national coach of the year, active hall of famer and national champion)

Unreal

Michigan has looked like the best team in the country despite playing in the best conference in the country for most of the year.

Guess this shouldn’t have surprised me. But i picked zona before the tourney.

Wish we had a serious AD to maintain our records/place in CBB. Thank you, Mitch Barnhart. Hiring an awful coach with 0 NCAAT wins, 3 days after a HOF coach resigned.
We will be chasing UConn for titles by the time we get our crap together. We have so many frigging selling points. Pope can’t do it. At least cal had a philosophy. It was fixed mind set but it was a philosophy. Pope is trying to figure it out as he goes along

Michigan should win. Michigan is on a historic run anyways. They have dominate this tourney margin wise.

My only concern Monday night is if uconn keeps it close til the end. Dangerous for Michigan if they do.

The UCon journey was unreal, indeed! Here’s the ESPN summaries (linked in the school names) and referees for each game, presented without commentary. Officials’ UK records are linked on their names to their page on the BigBlueHistory site.
2014 remains one of my favorite tournament runs ever for UK, despite the outcome of our final game.

That was the single best coaching performance he has had here imo. Maybe one of the UT games where we were so short handed.

Uconn ain't winning s**t this year. Michigan has been the best team all year and will handle Uconn. Michigan is excellent on both ends of the floor, they will be your champion this year.

Crazy how many above posters say uconn will win. Did you watch college basketball this year, did you watch last night?? Of ya did and can't see Michigan is much better than uconn, then idk what to say. Makes sense though based on most posts on this board.

What did he do coaching wise to win that game?
He’s on tape calling out exactly what Flagg would do, that was paying attention to the tape and his game. He made some great adjustments for defense in the second half(which to give him credit he seems to always have us play better in second halves) and how we started running offense.
