More good news for RU, its men’s hoops team got wiped off the floor by Creighton in the Crown. Game was not as close as final score. Outscored 70-47 after RU took an early 10 point lead.

Next lawsuit…

That shot chart shows the difference in offensive philosophy and coaching. Creighton knows what a good shot is and drives an offensive culture and strategy centered on spacing, controlled penetration, ball movement and catch and shoot 3s..

Not 1 shot attempt in the midrange. Everything at the rim or from 3 with a ton of 3s from the top of the key. Rutgers offense with a ton of low-percentage midrange 2s and contested 3s.

Unfortunately, our offensive shot chart and FG% by zone is just as bad and maybe worse. One frustrating aspect of Sha's offenses is he emphasizes driving to the rim so much which is a sound strategy. The highest % shots are at the rim and catch and shoot 3s. But Sha's teams are consistently terrible at converting shots at the rim, including offensive putbacks. This year we were 324th in FG% at the rim and 310th in FG% on putbacks. This is a trend with all of Sha's teams. He doesn't get enough offensively skilled players and he doesn't spend enough time working on offensive fundamentals.

Absolutely. Sha’s offense is easy to defend. Some of the movement is good but when you don’t have a threat from the perimeter and don’t have skilled scorers across the front it’s easy to sag and defend.

Plus we’re ridiculously slow.
