Lloyd and Arizona's AD have not had the best work relationship behind closed doors. The "not reporting" to the AD is probably icing on the cake for him.
Also, it's much easier to be the top team in the west than jump into the ACC and share a backyard with Duke, NC State, and others.

I really figured that guy was a lifer at Gonzaga and would call in the contracted agreement that he would take over whenever Few finally left.
Its cool to see him have sustained success at his first head coaching job.
Him staying is neat too- based on interviews, the guy isnt really into jumping ship over and over to climb to the top. And he managed to get hired at a place which is already pretty damn close to the top, which has to help.

I would argue the Big 12 is every bit as tough as- if not tougher - than the ACC.
That's a fair statement. Really pulling for Zona to win it all. Love the style of basketball they play.
A coach not reporting to the AD will be interesting to watch - could end up being a weird precedent.
Kalani Sitake asked for the same according to BYU fans when all that drama went down. How Santiago handled Sitake's requests was foolish & shouldn't be anywhere near a football program.

That’s surprising to me in the name of some other sports at Arizona. Maybe they’ve bumped some things up in money or directed some giving to basketball
