Sha has now lost his best returning player 3 years in a row. Richmond, Coleman, & now Hines.

For those you think Clark is better I guarantee if both go into the portal, Hines will have more high majors & more $

With the stupidity of the rules, there is no good reason to not enter the portal. You can do your own market research and still come back to the same school if you want if they are willing to take you back. And I have to believe most coaches want guys that have been in their system before, so it's not a tough sell for the coach to take you back. The sad part is these young people will never experience the community that so many college players had been a part of in the past and you'll have few names synonymous with a school. It makes a player like Karaban easy to root for.

Can't blame him. I wonder what Sha offered? Hines is going to get $3M+ and it's just too much for us.

We have a weak budget and Sha doesn't like spending big on individual players. I can't see Sha offering a player more than he makes.

Exactly. If I’m Hines, and can make $12-15 million in four years by “portaling” every year vs staying “loyal” for $6-8 million, I know what I’m doing. That’s FU money IF he is smart.

Good thing we rested him so much. He’ll be nice and healthy for Pitino or Cooley. When are we going to learn. Run these dudes into the ground. 1 year of service calls for maximum usage.
Sha thought Payne was better lmao. Tells you all you need to know about his talent evaluation. Coach is beyond clueless and just got a big raise and extended. The misery never ends

High rated college players have always wanted to showcase their skills to be drafted in the NBA. Throw in that they are now showcasing their skills to earn my money each season while still playing in college, I don’t see how this is a surprise to anyone.

These types of players will never stay to play for a coach that has players use all their energy on defense leaving them no legs for offense. This hurts future earning potential.

Throw in the awful SHU offensive sets and I don’t see any true offensively skilled player wanted to come regardless of money.

I loved hines and but le
6 points 5 rebounds per game I think we will be ok.
yes I would love for him to stay and develop into a monster but it’s just not reality in our world.
Take a deep breath everyone.
Was just gonna say same thing...yes he has potential but outside of 5 feet from the basket cant score or defend on the perimeter....

Got a better option hiding out in the A-Sun or Patriot league? Because that’s where we shop. Oh that’s right, our GM knows every hidden gem in America. We’re saved!

For a quaint fanbase like Seton Hall, losing your best player every year really hurts. They needed to maintain momentum going into next season and give the fanbase reasons for excitement / to stay engaged. Keeping Hines and Clark would do that.

But there's not much they can do if Hines gets a big pay increase and the opportunity to potentially compete for a natty.

It will be a massive groin kick if he ends up at St. Johns though. Total embarrassment if so.
