Pam Bondi's framed DOJ portrait tossed in a garbage bin

Apparently, she was not well loved by DOJ employees, even after she replaced a number of them with her own handpicked people. A day after Bondi's firing, her framed DOJ portrait was taken down from the wall and unceremoniously dumped in a garbage can. (The photo of said portrait sitting in a garbage can is included in the article linked below.)

Imagine that.

Turns out that Bondi herself took down photos of Biden, Harris and Garland she found hanging on the wall of a DOJ office immediately after Trump's inauguration, so she took them down and discarded them herself. But that was not enough for Pam. She demoted a senior DOJ employee (Devin DeBacker, Acting Chief of the DOJ's National Security Division) for not having already done so. What comes around goes around, I guess. LOL ...

I have kind of mixed feelings about this..first of all, we all have our "days in the sun". When Bondi took over at DoJ she takes down old pictures and when she goes same happens with hers..it happens all over the place. In military organizations there is always the chain of command board with pictures of president, SecDef (war) etc. When they are out of office pictures come down and end up in the trash. If your's hasn't ended up in the trash can, it will at some point.

Next, it's normal for someone taking over a department like this to bring their own people. It's normal. But you don't have to remove the previous people with a hatchet. But, hasn't that been the modus operandi for this admin, at least a lot of them, heavy handed, in your face, dealings with others. And, what goes around comes around, as they say

Can't disagree with anything you wrote here. There are some federal jobs where, to my understanding, it is customary for the jobholder to turn in his or her resignation or expect to be replaced upon a change of Administrations, particularly if it involves a change in the president's political party. I believe U.S. Attorney is one of those jobs. So, if that is the custom for that particular position, I have no problem with a new president (whether it is Trump or anyone else) coming in and cleaning house. But I think Bondi went a little over the top in demoting a senior DOJ veteran because the portraits of Biden, Harris and Garland were not removed the very instant Trump was inaugurated. Pulling them down and tossing them in the garbage would surely have sufficed, no?,

You might be right with US Attorneys...but not in the military.

I believe that political appointee jobs (schedule C?) fall into that category. these are normally expected to submit resignations. But SES employees are not.

You can't possibly disagree with my first paragraph.
