Reading the article it sounds like this will be challenged and they don’t have enough votes from democrats to pass the SCORE act which was ironically proposed by two democrats so not sure if this will have any lasting impact.

I know it will get struck down, but the part of about withholding federal funds from schools that ignore NCAA guidelines seems like a bad idea. Let’s not pretend the big wigs in Indy are good guys.

So an EO isn't law and the man in charge constantly threatens to take funding away from everything he disagrees with. Second, anything limiting the current power held by athletes will be struck down in court. Reform can be good and guardrails in place a positive but SCOTUS has given athletes this power while scolding the NCAA for trying to control it. What some here are celebrating is the idea of limiting money athletes can receive and limiting their decisions when coaches can hop from job to job, sometimes leaving a former program with nothing left.

As far as Congress goes, most of the time they agree on very little and even when they do, nothing rarely gets done. Congress rarely lifts a finger anymore and seems content on watching everything from the sidelines. Maybe that's one reason why approval is in the toilet for them.

Courts have ruled the NCAA has no authority to regulate itself and congress is useless. Everyone knows the current system is a shitshow, I support anyone trying to do anything to fix it.

The big fear is that NIL $ is taking away from women’s sports. Schools are already eliminating certain female scholarship sports like tennis,

golf and swimming to save money for football. I watched the Trump roundtable on the issue and the cancelling of women’s sports was a

top complaint/concern.

NIL money wouldn't take away from non-revenue sports, but the Universities paying athletes out of that revenue certainly would and is.

This'll get dusted by the courts like a clay pigeon at the Olympics, but good try, I suppose. Wonder how it'll affect Pate and the portal this year.

Dude thinks he's a 👑

Attempts to pass law without any input from the players, regardless all parties should be involved just not one side. This will be struck down or ignored until the players are involved in the process.
Involve the players? Hahahaha wow man thats a good one lol

Marshall eliminated their women's swim team after a new AD was hired, and about two weeks later reversed the decision. I'm not sure why but I'm glad they did, that was a ****** thing to do to those women.

1. This is about football.
2. Trump is friends with Saban, Tuberville, and many other football coaches.
3. It's for show.

EOs are worthless performative acts of nothing no matter which old man in a red or blue tie is signing it. Please know this is a nonpartisan statement.

However, if this spurs Congress to pass some actual legislation that will hold up under legal scrutiny, I’m all for it.

I would somehow like to see some sort of limit on tranfers so we don’t have Askew types (UK, Texas, California, Long Beach State, Nova). I also feel like there needs to be some sort of level salary cap where all schools have the same budget.
