To do what?He could be in Starksville in 2027.
I’m not sure it’s actually retirement. Hasn’t he been fired from his last two jobs?Good for him, sometimes retirement sux.
- Its safe to call the Memphis departure a fire. It is straight up called a firing in the press and his relationship with Hardaway was rumored to be not good.I’m not sure it’s actually retirement. Hasn’t he been fired from his last two jobs?
You could have saved yourself a lot of words by simply liking the post stating he was fired from his last two jobs, but some people like going down rabbit holes in lieu of simply agreeing with a stated fact.- Its safe to call the Memphis departure a fire. - As for WKU, his overall and conference records were pretty good there, even the last few years of play. At the same time, he never made the NCAA Tournament, despite finishing 1st or 2nd in Conference play 4 of 7 seasons.
He said he was resigning to focus on health and family, and did miss multiple games due to health...though he took the assistant coach job at Memphis a month later.
This seems like a mutual parting of ways that was also the university moving on.
- He wasnt fired from Texas A&M since he left there to take a Head Coach position.
- Hell yes he was fired from MSU, it was just called something else. Parties can agree to part ways but it still be a firing.
So basically fired in 3 of the last 4 jobs. The life of a coach.
I wasnt disagreeing with you. I figured I would add to your comment with some detail, since I think many here didnt keep up with Stans' job history post MSU.You could have saved yourself a lot of words by simply liking the post stating he was fired from his last two jobs, but some people like going down rabbit holes in lieu of simply agreeing with a stated fact.
We should all be happy that you resisted your normal tendencies to turn it into a political discussion.

Love Stansbury — we haven’t been close to that level since he left, especially when you look at fan engagement.
There’s probably a lot of coming in your hypothetical example.I see no good coming from this. It’s like a devout Christian taking a job at playboy.
I blame the change in fan engagement on reseating the hump. The university made the decision to chase immediate dollars at the expense of long term fan engagement. It doesn’t appear to have been a good decision.Love Stansbury — we haven’t been close to that level since he left, especially when you look at fan engagement.
That said, I don’t want him back. Those reunion hires almost never work out the way people hope.
I can assure you Rick stansbury paid his fair share of players or had someone do it.I see no good coming from this. It’s like a devout Christian taking a job at playboy.
