I have disagreements with Trump and many many Republicans but have no choice but to vote that way , democrats are just far to cray cray for me. I do believe Iran needed crushed . We have used every tactic under the sun and they keep building more missiles and shipping them out to be used against us and Israel. I was against going into Iraq for many reasons and was hopeful Iran would calm down after the first bombing. Talking to a few friends who have spent many years serving and working in the middle east I believe its the right thing to do and at the right time . Worth the pain of high gas prices.

I still think this is tactically incorrect
I’m not sure what our actual endgame or goal is here

Iran has made their goal crystal clear: crumble our economy and the economies of their neighbors who let us put military bases on their soil. They’ve got allies, China in particular is the world’s largest manufacturer of drones, and that’s the asymmetrical part that worries me. No matter how much power or money we throw at it, they only need to launch a handful of cheap drones every couple of weeks to keep choking Gulf shipping lanes.

Our original promise to the UAE and Saudi Arabia (trade oil in USD + host our bases = we protect them, including keeping the Gulf shipping lanes open) was what made the whole setup work. Trump seems fine walking away from that full protection bargain, and I think that’s a bigger shift than a lot of people are admitting.

No one is excited about this! It's all completely terrible and seems to be on the exact path those that were worried about this conflict were worried about!

Do you know what asymmetric means?
What would we even target with "OUR BIG STUFF"?
The weapons actually hurting us are cheap mobile launch-pad drones and most aren't even built or launched from Iran. They're proxies with Chinese parts firing from trucks and small boats.
That's the whole point.

EDIT:
Regarding targets, currently our threats are to commit war crimes and target civilian infrastructure

I read IRGC, Russian, and CCP Propaganda too. There's having concerns then there's straight up fear mongering because you are more concerned about the midterm instead of being honest that these motherfvckers want your head on a pike. Are they tough and willing to die for their cause. No doubt. So if Trump starts dropping MOABS or Tactical Nukes on their *** I'm not going complain about. Because if that's what it takes to destroy these fvcking deranged idiots so be it.

Totally agree. Along these same lines, the impact to Asian allies most notably South Korea and Japan are significant too. Two of our of biggest allies in a critical region. In SK, the President has already requested citizens to take shorter showers, utilize public transportation, and use less electricity as a result of the energy crisis. Japan’s plugging into reserves and firing up the coal plants.
