This means the Jailhawks will be losing at a minimum their four leading scorers, rebounders and assist leaders, and two others of the eight players in the rotation.

What a great opportunity for anyone who ever slapped around a woman and can dribble and shoot. Ever been charged with assault? Top scorer in your prison intramural league? That’s Bill Self on line one.
I didn’t even see who posted this at first, but I was thinking that sounds like an MD joke lol.

This MAN will feast in the offensive minded SEC.
Time for MM - Kam - Jelly - CC - BG - JJ - Noah to make up their minds ⁉️
Stay or Go ⁉️ Time to “Go or Get off The Pot“ as my Gramps used to say.
Gonna be 1000’s of players in the Portal & we already filled 3 of the open spots.
Maybe they are not making up their minds because UK is stalling them on contracts to c whether we can recruit better from the portal.

No
These fkn kids now do not want to compete for a starting spot. They can get the money at many schools, and not have to compete for it
I wish we could go back to the days of flattops and Chuck Taylors when these kids knew their place and were happy just to be a part of the team

He's not to short,he has a big wing span,and hes a power forward/Center,they won't worry about ball handling,he's a beast.
That's not what NBA scouts think of him. They say he's a poor man's Oscar Tshiebwe. And Oscar can't even get into the league. But whatever man. Have it your way.

Bidunga may not make in the league due to offensive limitations, but he is nothing like Oscar; way smaller build, no back to basket post moves, longer and a million times bouncier.

Wrong. He’s quite different than Oscar.

And the difference starts on the defensive end. Oscar was a terrible defender, opposing bigs scored over him at will. Whereas defense is Bidunga’s strongest asset (he’s the reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year). Indeed, he may be the best returning rim protector/defensive big in all CBB next year.

And Bidunga’s also longer and just far bouncier and more athletic than Oscar ever was.

Conversely, Oscar was thicker, stronger and a better rebounder than Bidunga. But, of course, Oscar was a better rebounder than EVERYONE …the dude was the quintessential rebounding specialist, it’s just a shame that rebounding was his ONLY real marketable skill.

I didn't read all the posts, so I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I can't see any way Kansas wouldn't have done everything possible to keep Bidunga. Whether Kansas brings in Stokes or whoever they have, that is a huge, huge loss for them. If I remember correctly, Bidunga wanted to leave Kansas last season and I think they had to throw a ton of money at him or something to convince him to come back. I know asking why Bidunga appears to so desperately want to get out of Kansas opens the door to a bunch of jabs, but has anyone read any supposedly legit reasons why?

He’s a great leaper with great energy but he’s too short to be a dominant center. He also can’t shoot outside of dunking the ball
B12 DPOY.
Uh, I'd say you are wrong.
6'10 isn't too short, and that DPOY proves it.
He is 2" taller than the C that won National POY as a generational-level rebounder (Oscar).
Dunking the ball was really the only offensive skill JQ had too. Actually, skill-wise there are a lot of similarities in the two.
Now if he is horrible at the FT line (<60%), that can be an issue.

Just because we (BBN) don't know, doesn't mean Pope doesn't know or at least have a good idea.

This (if they are letting him go so they can afford Stokes) does bring up a good question.
Is it better to add 1-$6M player or 2-$3M players or 3-$2M players.
Or if the scale is off, is it better to add 1-$4M player or 2-$2M players?

I didn't think they meant he was an absolute clone of Oscar. I took it as a comparison of his offensive and ball handling limitations. And shorter height.

What you explicitly said is that NBA scouts consider him “a poor man’s Oscar Tschiebwe”, which obviously implies a worse version of Oscar.

Your claim was patently false. Not only are they distinctly different types of players, but NBA scouts also plainly consider Bidunga to be the better NBA prospect. Oscar went completely undrafted, whereas Bidunga is being projected as a late first rounder in recent mock drafts like this one:

Nope. They meant that both are traditional bigs with limitations in areas the NBA values. The modern NBA center must possess an expanded skill set that neither have. Oscar does excel in one area they value: rebounding.
This is not a good draft for a traditional big man to enter. He's going to slide quite a bit. But whatever man. I don't care to argue it further. I really don't care as much as you do.

As others have said, Duke.

There has been some online chatter for the last couple of months that Duke was tampering through back channels. He will either go to Duke or he'll use Duke to get a fat raise of out of Kansas.

Everyone has realized the importance of size in today's college game. Center's are going to cost a premium in this portal season. If Kansas wants to keep him, they'll have to pony up.

As far as "This frees up money for Stokes." Sure. If Kansas loses Flory, they have more money to pay Stokes. They also now have a very big problem at a very important position. Going from an All-conference, DPOY at Center to a "more cost effective" replacement is a HUGE loss. You're not going to go and get a legit center for cheap.

I actually think it creates a huge headache for Kansas. I think it was probably expected. And they're hoping they can give him a raise without breaking the bank. But they may be stretched thin on the dollars after 2 or 3 starters.

Guys we have the Whiff God, no need to worry about High Major transfers, we will stick to San Francisco and California Tech players.
