Yeah, this looks like it was planning on us doing so much more during the post season - Pope achieved one thing this season, he fostered a team that lacked mental toughness and ultimately quit when things got challenging.
I’d rather be kicked right in the testicles than watch that.
The second half of the Iowa State game was one of the biggest disgraces I’ve seen in 50 years of watching Kentucky basketball.
You didn’t like watching your coach stand there squinting his eyes with arms crossed saying nothing, making no adjustments while his team got pummeled in the round of 32 in front of the world??? What kind of fan are you??? 🫣
There were happy moments (the Arkansas win, the UT wins, the LSU comeback/buzzer beater, Oweh’s shot vs. Santa Clara, etc.).
But not nearly enough to make me want to re-live this mostly disappointing season.

I clicked on the preview too. He was chasing sound bites the entire edit lol. I may need a cooling off period before I listen to Pope, but right now that whole clip just seems like the fakest dude on the planet spitting platitudes and cosplaying a real coach

Yeah like they did against tn twice and lsu. Like they did against indiana and st johns. On this thread and late at night, early in the morning we get random posers posting ****. I remember losing to oakland, Evansville, Richmond, unc Ashville, and I remember tons of people getting blown out this year. I remember with Tyler herro and company getting killed by duke by 40.
Without a pure pg you aren't going to win much. Expectations of other players didn't pan out. His recruiting of freshmen and the whole jq thing was dumb. Same losers on this thread name calling. You though and son of saul everything you post negative congrats.
Iowa State game 3 of our main players had 3 fouls and they were getting away with the reach in defense making us turn the ball over more. When calls are one sided it sorta deflates you as a player. Then that next game lost to tn because they beat us and that was their championship
Yeah our players didn't pan out. Our rotations weren't great and pope shouldn't have gotten jq. This upcoming season if he fails he probably will get let go. Half of people on this board are rivals, trolls, cal entourage etc, or hate their life let's take it out on a sports team.

Here's a brief summary for those that don't want to watch it all:
I'm actually glad this is happening while the college basketball world is focused on the Final Four for three reasons:
1. It's an appropriate final punctuation to the Millionaire Mitch Barnhart era, and will stand as his legacy -- he's done more than any human in over a century to destroy the proud heritage of Kentucky basketball and he deserves the smell of this rotten egg to be in the air as he departs.
2. Assuming Mark Pope has a normal human being's level of embarrassment and humiliation, I can't imagine anything serving as a greater motivation to redeem himself than to have the entire country see what he's done to Kentucky basketball. If he has anything in him, this should shame him into turning things around.
3. Whoever the new AD is, what better provocation to focus everything on salvaging Kentucky basketball than to see it turned into a joke before the entire country. This is your entire mission: Return the Kentucky Wildcats to the pinnacle of the sport. Anything else and you will be a failure.

Reviewers are already calling it “the Spinal Tap of college hoops”.
As a Pope Denier I am going to watch it. The other side of the coin deserves to be shown. It will be interesting for sure. But of course, understand they are pushing a specific narrative. I hope that narrative is balanced and fair.

There will be no blame to catch. Have you heard the players talk after the season? They think they did good, because they “didn’t fold” or “shut out all the noise” or some such bullsh*t.
Some of the guys on here would rather UK lose so they can say they’re right about Pope being a bad coach.
But you're not as confused as Nigel, are you?
The squinting eye standing arms crossed is reason enough in itself why Pope isn't going to work out here. Like who does that? That is a default for Pope and not something that can be changed. That is enough alone to know he won't make it.
UK has had so many seasons where I would have loved watching one of these but this is the season they pick? Yikes.
