Was Milewski pulled b/c he couldn’t catch the ball? Or was he hurt? I got disgusted and turned the game off; came back and Raymond was in.

Dumbfounded we keep blaming the catchers when we gave up ten runs tonight.
You need to think a little more about the word "GAVE". GA hit the ball out of the park several times with runners on base that either got hits or were GIVEN walks, on base. And, our catchers GAVE them 3 runs on 3 passed balls, runs they didn't have to work for when they crossed the plate. On the first one Foster barely even made an attempt to cover the plate after the passed ball

Well. The pitchers do have a role in that. Certainly we expect the catcher to block up every pitch but our coaches are teaching our catchers to get all the way on the ground and that limits their range. Sometimes our pitchers look like they can’t get the fear out of them by them throwing so dang many breaking balls in the dirt! They were scared shitless tonight that their fast balls were going to get hammered out of the park. Don’t walk the dang leadoff guys with off speed stuff way outside or in the dirt. We have already proven SOLO HRs don’t hurt State because we have guys who can produce runs. Need to be more aggressive throwing strikes early.

I'm more concerned with the walks. This staff officially now concerns me.

I see things in some of their mechanics that has me scratching my head. Looks like too much trickery being coached & not enough emphasis on throwing strikes.

Too much nibbling around the strike zone and stupid balls that aren’t even near the plate and damn sure will not enlist a swing from a hitter at this level of baseball.

That’s baseball - you can’t load up the zone every pitch

Two of them were right down the middle and hit the catcher’s mitt…

Not having at least one catcher you can consistently depend on defensively is a big problem for a team trying to win a championship.

It's something we really need to get fixed. Hopefully one of these guys steps up somehow.

You don’t fix things like this midseason. We are who we are

Maybe Bauer matured right in front of our eyes last night. He was impressive for sure and we really needed that. Will he be consistently on point like that rest of year? 🤞

Georgia has an All American Catcher and he has been a difference maker. He's been a vacuum behind the plate. And we aren't trying to steal.
