has to stop swing for the fence.Idk what Gavin’s gotta do, but something needs to change
Terrible calls behind the plate that were absolutely inexcusable. It certainly didn't cost us the game, but you can't have that. On the other hand, that was absolutely awful performance by the Heels. You can't that either. Better come ready to play baseball tomorrow. The ball/strike calls tonight have not been good or consistent. You can’t argue that. We’ve k’d 3 times on stuff out of the zone. Walked in a run on a middle-middle fastball.
We didn’t play well, that’s not negotiable. But, the inconsistency behind the plate leads to a ton of tense ABs and wishing for strike calls on the mound. Leads to not being able to get comfortable in the box or on the rubber. We helped BC a ton tonight, they didn’t beat their selves and we did. But, to just write of the calls from behind the plate is asinine.
the strike zone is the strike zone. You shouldn’t “swing if it’s close” or have worry about a missed call on a 3-0 pitch. That’s the point, and that’s why the head coach was pissed and why everyone on here is bitching.
we got beat, didn’t have a good approach at the plate, too many walks and HBPs, a bad error in the 9th to open it up. All of that can be true, and still say the guy behind the plate was less than competent at his only job.
Even besides his voice, I just don’t think his commentary is very good (that might be subjective)Wayne McDonald has a voice for newspaper
I’m a fan of Wayne’s commentary.Wayne McDonald has a voice for newspaper
We count on walks so much in this offense. The power, speed and low overall batting average scares me post season. This team simply can't hit lefties that aren't power pitchers. This series is a nightmare match up . Anyone who has left handed pitching is going give us fits . Hopefully we'd get swept at home. Ryan gives up 3 runs that's not awful but you have to be able to hit.
Needs to drop in the order!Idk what Gavin’s gotta do, but something needs to change
Your last line is what I’ve been worried about for most of the year honestly. Figured Lynch would be better than last year, but so far that hasn’t been the case. Our pitching is still very good but it’s not elite like I expected. And that’s with a huge surprise in Glauber. It definitely should be good enough to hold BC to less than 6 runs at home. I think our offense is honestly where most expected after last year. It was going to be a struggle trying to replace so much. And with Gavin MIA, we just will be in dogfights against good pitching. And the lefty thing isn’t just this team. It’s been a UNC thing for a loooong time now.I say it again this team simply can't hit left handed pitchers. UVA shut us down Fri and Sat with lefty's . LVille shut us out with a lefty with an era over what 5 at the time? And we were a dropped third strike from losing a series to them at home. BC had 3 very good left handed pitchers and at this point just don't get swept. Lynch is now 0 and 3 in ACC games at home let that sink in.
