We have played well there in the past including beating their *** in the B1G tourney there last year. 11-2 all time against them.

Need to handle business. A win over Michigan and a split of Maryland/PSU before the B1G Tourney and we got a very real shot to play in May Madness.

Need to reach the B1G finals to feel confident. Loss to Army really hurts unless they get the AQ.

We were 2nd team out in the last Bracketology I looked at this week. Yes, work needs to be done but 2-1 in the last 3 plus 1 B1G Tourney win may be enough. Agreed though, make the Champ Game and there shouldnt be any real doubt.

2 more wins bubble in as it stands. Any three wins and I’d think we are a lock unless AQs go bananas.

Lotta lacrosse to go. Hopkins has a monster game against PSU. They lose that we jump them. Last week as such a massive win. All focus on Michigan. That’s all that matters now. Win and the waters remain calm.

Im with you. Beat Michigan and split Maryland/PSU and we have a shot. Sweep the 3 or win 1 B1G game and we should be in minus bid thieve chaos.

What happened the year when John Hopkins made it in the tourney over us? Think we beat them twice (including B1G tourney). Did RU make the finals?

That’s what happened. It was a travesty. Fortunately that won’t happen again. We have representation on the committee.

Did an AI search and the response was it was one of more controversial decisions in the history of the tourney. Possibly low RPI and a loss to a mediocre Princeton the year.

Also that year Brown, who likely would have won the whole thing but for Dylan Malloy's injury in garbage time in the quarters, was referred to as "Rutgers on steroids".

That same Brown team went on smoke Hopkins around in the first round. They had no business in that tourney. We played Brown after that in a home and home and went 2-0. The win at their place was an incredible road win. Everything possible went wrong with the travel including the hotel. Guys still found a way.

With a healthy Malloy the over/under on a RU - Brown game would have been about 35. It was a shame to see him hobbling around on 1 foot in the final and watch a "greatest show on turf" offense turn into a Woody Hayes "3 yards and a cloud of dust".

Not going to say more but our line up is going to look at little different tomorrow.

Michigan runs a lot of zone D which we are seeing more and more of in college lacrosse. How we attack that will be interesting.

Our current RPI is 10. OSU is 17 with PSU 9. That’s a monster game next weekend for them and JHU. Must win for OSU. Duke drops to 13 with a SoS of 28. Those numbers are bad. Both OSU and Duke are in trouble.

I’m assuming Scarelli is out, but luckily Michigan doesn’t have a dominant FOGO. Their season average, mostly using two guys with a third guy sprinkled in, is 50.8%. We’ll be fine if Desmarais and Rainero can combine for about 45-50%. We just can’t have them only winning 35-40% or worse.

Attackman Haydn Sommer out today. So both of our primary X guys (Murphy and Sommer) are out. Colin Kelly gets the start up front.

Kasey Mongillo with two early goals, and Rutgers is up 2-0!

We’ve won 2 of 3 FOs with Desmarais.

Offense just went ice cold. Allowing Michigan back in.
Michigan defense playing really well, not giving us any open looks over the past 10-12 minutes. We really needed that goal by Zeller, but it was due to individual effort on a roll dodge and fought through three defenders to score.

Bieda needs to draw up stuff to get us some open looks.

Michigan’s D looks like they know the offense they’re facing very well lol…..

6-5 and Michigan has momentum.

Our defense looks confused by the constant screen action. Michigan getting open looks from the confusion.

HUGE goal right there by CK!!!! 7-5 absolutely had to score there and take the momentum away from them. Huge, huge, huge.

now don’t let them get it back before the half!!!

Phew…… great job holding them off there to go to the half 7–5. NOW……we MUST come out hot to start the 2nd…. Cannot let this young Michigan team, on senior day, back in this game with momentum and mindset on their side.

Faceoffs an issue but not a disaster. Stoller playing well. Slides could be better.
I would view 5 out of 14 a near disaster on FOs, especially the way Michigan is operating on offense. They got a TON of good looks, hit the post three times, and missed about three dunks or close in shots. They could easily be ahead right now.

We need to go 50-50 on FOs in the 2nd half.
