He has got to start being more defensive if he’s going to get down 0-2 every at bat

I never mind a mind a backwards K if it’s on something borderline, but Gavin was surprised there. Kid is struggling, just needs to barrel a couple soon.

He mixes speeds really, really well. Throws everything for strikes. Makes for tough ABs. We have to have a better approach when it comes to picking what we’re looking for, this is the type of guy you want to get on early in the AB. If he gets 0-2 or 1-2, your not going to be very successful. Have to be eager to swing early in counts.

A competitive start for Ryan, didn’t have the fastball basically all night and battled hard. Got some length out of him. Not easy to pitch against a team like that when the fastball isn’t good, and makes it harder when your offense isn’t pick you up any.

Lynch just was not good tonight. Lucky to only have 3 pinned against him as of now (pending this inning)
While Ryan obviously wasn’t great, one run isn’t going to cut it. Stranding RISP against a good team like this can’t happen.
Exactly right, Ryan battled and kept them in the game when he obviously didn’t have even his B stuff. Need Walker and the offense to pick him up.

This team simply can't hit lefties that aren't power pitchers. This series is a nightmare match up . Anyone who has left handed pitching is going give us fits . Hopefully we'd get swept at home. Ryan gives up 3 runs that's not awful but you have to be able to hit.

Only seen about half of the game but agree… biggest issue is our approach, imo.
and with him finishing 6, this is his best outing so far in all his ACC starts. Shocker.
