Tough when you use up your pen and come away with a loss.

What bothered me most was Soto not busting it to home plate in the 11th.

Lindor forgetting how many outs
Lindor picked off right before Soto HR
Alvarez not looking up after ball bounced 3 feet away letting runner get to second
Pinch hitting a rookie knowing cards would just bring in a lefty
But these games don’t count in April even though Mets missed playoff on a tie breaker

Stearns got it right !

Run Prevention!

Unfortunately it’s our hitting preventing us from scoring runs !

Semien looks shot! Too old. !
What worried me more about Semien- 99 out of 100 times, in prior years, he would have been catching that pop fly that ended the game.

BTW- someone here does not want us to have anything negative to say as he does not realize games in March/April have anything to do with the end of the year standings or that fans have every right to discuss both positive and negative, anytime they want to. And do not say anything negative about Stearns- seems to be a trigger lol

To date we have lost 2 games that we shouldn’t have.

Sunday game vs Pitt and yesterday game vs Cards.

If we lose out on playoffs again by a whisker - we can always look back at these type of games.

When there is nothing to call on the field, Gary and Keith go on tangents. This was odd. Wonder if they will do San Francisco. 😬

Imagine this Mets offense against the Yankees starting pitching in a 3 game series. Might be 27 innings of no runs

April 1 is always good for stuff like this.

By the way, is the return of AJ Minter in the next month or two a valid possibility. He's got a history of two things: effectiveness and injuries.
Minter came up in a lot of replies to that post on X. Two things- he is definitely better than Lovelady (duh), and he is fragile (doh). A couple posts said hopeful for early May.

I guess the good thing is that we also have a damn good era as well. It could be 3 extra inning games with a total of 5 runs scored by both teams.

Stearns BS will blow up in his face at some point this year. The sad part is he'll duck responsibility for it.
FYI: Citi Field is going to play much bigger as this team has no home run pop.

Why do you say we should have won either game? We didn't score, therefore we didn't win. It is the natural order of things.

He worded it correctly. Both are games we should have won. And you are correct, we didn’t because we didn’t score.
Both of you are correct.

This team is hard to watch. Stearns, aka nickel and dime the fans, sold everyone bullsh*t. I hope Cohen doesn't run it back with management next year. Full disclosure, I hate Stearns like I hate Eppler

Careful- we have fans on here that don’t like us saying anything bad about their boy genius

mid I’m Cohen- Mendoza is gone right now and boy wonder has this year.

On the scale of hate, please tell us where you put Lovelady with respect to Stearns and Eppler. Just curious.

In my humble opinion, your and others conclusions about the team are a tad bit early, and it is waaaay to early for "gone now." But we fans can have different opinions and respectfully disagree.
Yes, Polanco's and Bichette's hitting has been atrocious. The only two hitting at a high level are Soto and Vientos (limited sample). Let's hope the rust shakes off the others. LFGM.

It is too early for maybe gone now based on these first few games alone- but Mendoza was not good last year at all. As for the team- yep, it can all be righted, and that is why Stearns get's this year. He started off pretty strong his first year but mostly on the backs of a couple of pitchers he brought in- Seve and Manaea having such strong years and OMG being a catalyst on the field. But his 2025 offseason was very bad outside of the no branier with Soto. And the 2025 trade deadline was horrific - which is what really cost the season. And this year- it is still to be told. And if this group he brought in brings us deep into the playoffs- then maybe he is that boy genius. So- let's see- but if we are just in that hanging on mode at trade deadline and he doesnt make brilliant moves- then cut the cord.

As for the players- I am usually a back of the baseball card type of believer for the total season. So- these guys can all get there - though, very worried about Semien. But, I just am not sure if they all get to their normal numbers- it will be good enough.
