LOL He had a lifetime contract ... He wanted out of Kentucky so bad he gave that up . Pay attention to any broadcast where they specifically say how rejuvenated Cal is in Fayetteville .

Yes Cal will always be associated with the Kentucky job as he should but don't kid yourself . He wanted away from the administration and fan base or he never would have left . Period
Lmao he didn’t want out. He tried to leverage the Arkansas job as a way to get his son on staff at UK but not realizing how tired UK was of him. UK used that as the way to get rid of him without having to pay his buyout. He had no choice but to go to Arkansas at that point. That or hope another job opened up. That event where Cal first got to Arkansas and people were waiting at the airport, it was clear as day by the look on his face that he didn’t want to be there. 😂

So let me get this straight ... If Cal was to talk to another School without permission he would automatically be in a breach of contract correct ? So knowing that he risked his 33 MILLION on a strong arm tactic to get Brad on the staff ? Him and Barnhart were already not on great terms and Cal also knew the fanbase had turned on him . With all that he said F It I am gonna leverage Arkansas and risk it all . LMFAO

And for the record im sure he did try to get Brad on staff cause he brought it up several times how happy he was to have him at Arkansas but holy cow .... Thats good stuff

like i said before I don't think he ever wanted to leave Kentucky UNTIL the fan base turned oh him . Then he wanted out and his buddy Tyson gave him a parachute .

Yeah that about sums it up. But I do think it’s important for Arkansas fans to understand that the fanbase was completely justified in turning against him. It wasn’t just that he had spent the last 5 years losing games he had no business losing, it was the manner in which he lost them. Refusing to play statistically productive player combinations. Being intentionally vague about injuries and player drama. Bristling when questioned about anything, as if his previous accomplishments made him above reproach. They may have at a lesser program, but at Kentucky (and any other blue blood, be it basketball or football) it’s always going to be what have you done for me lately. That’s just the way it is, and Cal knew that going in. The fans loved Cal, and would have afforded him a lot more grace had he chosen to try a different approach rather than double down on what had already been failing for some time.

Cal has done OK at Arkansas, and will probably continue to do OK there. He may even reach an FF at some point, though I do believe it will require some changes that I don’t necessarily think he is crazy about making. His career has proven that he needs massive talent AND a great staff to succeed, and right now I feel like he has good talent and a crappy staff. The man has always been an elite recruiter, but one need only look at his coaching tree to see how deficient he is in the X’s and O’s department. So again, not saying he won’t bring Ark to places they haven’t been in 30+ years… but I would be surprised. He’s just too old and stubborn, IMO.

Could be we shall see . And you may have missed the part of my post that did say by the time he is done in Fayetteville a lot of that will probably be water under the bridge .

True. And Cal has done really really really well for Arkansas. Back-to-back sweet 16's is absolutely phenomenal for Arkansas. If he's able to make another sweet 16 and maybe squeeze out an Elite-8 before he leaves, he'll likely reach legendary status for Arkansas. I mean sweet 16's and an elite 8 is incredible for Arky. He will have done very well.

Imagine stalking your new girlfriend's ex-husband and trying to convince him how bad they should still want her. That is exactly how I picture Razorback fans that come over here.
If there wasn't threads about Cal and Arkansas on a regular basis you wouldnt see us . Just saying

There could be 30 threads on some other site. I have no desire to go over there. Couldn’t care less about what other fan bases are saying.

100 % and I understand what was going on . I would have been pissed also if he was playing DJ over Acuff like he did Dillingham . As far bristling at the questions I'm sure he felt he was above being Questioned and that amplified things along with some head scratching losses . Im not saying a more patient fanbase like Arkansas wouldn't have acted the same way its just amplified at Kentucky .

Eh you might be surprised . For the most part people are pretty happy but most feel we had a final 4 backcourt and a round of 36 front court this year.
There is a lot of people very curious to see what the portal haul looks like this year cause no one liked getting pushed around under the basket .

I know you trying to throw a subtle jab cause as Razorback fans we are pretty happy with the S16 5 out of the last 6 years with a couple 8's in there but we went through 20 years of purgatory so yes its much better than the alternative .

That is a fair description but in reality you had a final 4 offense and a round of 64 defense. I honestly don't know what happened with Cal and defense. It was his calling card and for the last 6 or 7 years his teams have been atrocious on defense. Having the athletes that he has had and them not playing defense is unbelievable actually. Their lack of defense is how UK beat them this year. All a team had to do was play physical defense against UK and they would melt.

100% and most feel next year is going to be the complete opposite from this year. Defense heavy and offensively take a step back .

It wasn’t just DJ over Dillingham. The trio of Sheppard, Dillingham, and Antonio Reeves was literally the highest 3p% trio in Kentucky HISTORY, and they played a total of like 23 minutes together the entire season. It was beyond irrational… it was just bizarre.

Or the stat where Jack Gholke from Oakland had only attempted eight 2-point field goals the entire season, yet we defended him as if he was a threat to score from anywhere inside 22 feet. Again, it went beyond just ignorance or stubbornness. Some were even questioning if Cal had a touch of dementia going on. I don’t think that’s the case, but man… just truly weird stuff that defied explanation.

Yes, there’s more Pasquales locations than Maysville
I definitely wouldn’t call it very cheap
Then you are judging Maysville's based on others unfairly. For example, the Pasquales in Newport has a 15" cheese pizza for $18.99. The 15" cheese pizza in Maysville is $13.69. The Newport large stromboli is $10. The one in Maysville is $5.49. Those prices in Maysville very cheap. That doesn't even include the incredible daily specials they have either. I will repeat that you don't know what you are talking about.

Is the Maysville Pasquale as good as the Gatlinburg Papa Johns?

With our current program direction it is quite possible 2012 was our very last NCAA Championship.
