I happened to be in Athens the day after it started and went to a Magill Society event with a friend who is a a big UGA donor.
The head of their Bulldog Club said they had about 2,500 sign up the first day, and it led to an unsolicited $100k donation.

So as usual, other schools fans jump on board things, and we have our fans look for reasons to say no.

Hate to say it because star power never impressed me and I’m pushing 50, but I want to watch my team play ball. I give two farts about talking to them on Zoom.

I see it as more of an exclusive fansite, where folks can hear things right from the source AND be a part of a private collective. It just happens to have a message board, crootin articles and all the other shlt that goes with a fansite. And it's also a place where we can keep everybody on the same team. Let's face it all the private ones have a slight bit of an agenda from whoever owns them. Most times that aligns with the university's mission, but not always.

I don't know if it's a positive or negative, but probably a necessity. Especially if you don't have the biggest collective out there.

I also don't know what it means for other paysites. I suspect they all will still have a role.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the "double secret" email that went out earlier this week pitching a fan gathering before the baseball game "South of the Polk Plaza" ? I read the email but haven't seen any further details.

I just went to sign up. It wasn’t just click Apple Pay to sign up. Had to fill in all info and credit card. Why in the 2026 year of our lord do I have to do that?

So that they can hit you up every week throughout the year for more. There is seldom a day (if ever a day) that I don't get an email at one or more of my email addresses, a text, or both or something in snail mail from the university. It's cheap marketing for them. I've been changing my contact info over to other emails and a burner phone number I have to cut down on the pile up of info.

Is dawgstudent gonna enter SixPackSpeak into the transfer portal to entertain an offer of additional flatscreens?
Is State 1878 already tampering?
Will our membership fee increase?
Will we still have free chat?
Is Robbie gonna allow political discusssions?

We need some answers
