I don’t disagree but I don’t think a postseason comment is going to do anything positive. Actions speak louder.

Well Lehigh has an elite staff but they are still far removed from their glory days so I don’t think “upgrading the staff” will automatically bring change… we need to attract the top recruits somehow this is the most important thing… maybe they will come if the staff upgraded but maybe they won’t… it’s not like Lehigh is a perennial top 10 team… we gotta get recruits to buy into what RU is selling somehow..
Knox will help with recruiting. He’s a game changer of a recruit.
Yet somehow Lehigh has cranked out more All Americans than Rutgers (quick glance) over the past 10 years. They had two top 25 recruits last year. Rutgers had 1. I'd bet most elite and top wrestlers want to train with the best coaches, the best programs and the best training partners. Iron sharpens iron. Lehigh is achieving more than Rutgers with less resources (probably), facilities that most likely are below our's (I've never been there), and they dont wrestle in front of crowds like at Rutgers. What's the draw? Education possibly. Coaching I'd say is probable. Number one, the coaches get the right wrestlers there in the first place and then they develop them. Just my thought.
I think lehigh would be consistently in the top 10, if Santoro and his staff were not proverbial dicks. santoro is in notorious ahole. Have you ever seen any of zach rey or brad dillons interviews? They are as arrogant and as obnoxious as they come. I have a friend of mine who is in administration in hopatcong. He said that rey was the greatest athlete hopatconh ever produced , but a massive douchebag. Condescending , snide and egotistical are his exact words.
I will take Jersey Joe Martinek over Zach, But Zaxh did lead the to a football championship blocking for Joe!

Rey has been a D- bag like that since he was 15. He is the stereotypical 1980s movie bully . His name should be Zach O’Doyle. He used to straight up bully refs when his teammates were wrestling and I’d watch coward refs just swallow their whistles out of fear of a teenager
I had a round off competition against him at a scrimmage back in the day ( he’s more then double my size) yet somehow he beat me

we lined up on one side of the room and did cartwheels all the down to one side then round offs followed by a flip at the end on the way back
You guys didn't drive off into the sunset , riding down bumpy hills without bike seats, did you...lol? All kidding aside, that's pretty impressive. I've never met him , but i've never heard a good word about him. Can't discredit the fact that he was a tremendous wrestler. My buddy said he had a snide way about him that you just immediately wanted to punch him in to face once you met him. I didn't realize hopatcong produced such royalty. My buddy says it's basically a white trash, lake town. What high school did you wrestle for?
But despite their reputation, they still recruit well and produce AAs at a better rate than RU. Outside of a Lehigh education, the wrestles are going there versus Rutgers why? The staff is a draw I feel. Anybody with a different perspective and/or insight, please chime in.

Insult? Not me. That's not my style. Back to Lehigh. 1. Do today's high schoolers really think Lehigh currently has the tradition to lure kids in this day and age? And I ask that with all seriousness. They still put out solid teams and get results. But they are not a traditional powerhouse now. 2. Staff, check. 3. And I agree with you on academics.
