Dan Hurley under fire for bizarre ref interaction after UConn’s miraculous 3-pointer
Dan Hurley is back at it again.
The ref was coming up to him close to sideline. Probably to tell him they were going to review the time left is my guess. It was loud so he got close to Danny. The bumping head seemed very odd.was dan on the sidelines? Seemed odd that the ref was right there too.
dan has got to calm his *** down. the excess doesnt help, and is at minimum bad for him. I bet his wife is all over him on thIs stuff and he knows she is right. I was surprised at the rather calm reaction by his Dad. He was a lot calmer than me.
C'mon ....08. He was just fine in each interview with Tracy. The in-game "interviews" are stupid ideas; imagine it is all dictated by TV/sponsors dollars, and coaches hate them. Coach K always sent an assistant. After the game, Tracy quickly commented about the pin missing and how superstitous he is. Posted earlier, his comments about Geno, Calhoun, and Ollie---- in the immeidate post game excitement---- were thoughtful and classy. Kill him about sideline antics and confrontations with refs, but the interviews.....? Really? How about in BOTH interactions with Tracy Wolfson he was acting bizarre as well. Anyone see that? I think it was halftime and the end game interview.
The first time they cameras cut on to them before she was ready and he was staring off toward the other end of the court and he goes "don't ask me what im staring at" in what I thought was a belligerent way.
Then at the end of the game he's bizarrely complaining while live that "someone stole his pin." What a thing to say in the immediate moments after you won a historic game that you shouldve lost to go to the Final Four. Looney toon level weirdness.
There is nothing the least bit 'bizarrre' about that split second interaction with the ref. Hurley is definitely sometimes a bit odd in his behavior but being a Seton Hall guy from Jersey City myself I am unabashedly 100% in his corner. Besiders, his head coaching success is undeniable and he has many more years ahead of him.
They were never gonna call that tech but moving forward they should. You shouldn’t be allowed to run on the court if time is still on the clock.Huley is bizarre but the media is always looking for a story to promote.Unbeliable game and ending. The jackass Duke announcer was allegedly calling for a technical foul. There would have been a riot.
My wife asked me if I was OK cause I made a sound she had never heard when that shot went it. I give him a pass, like the ref did.Hurley wasn't thinking anything in the moment, lol. He is an emotional roller coaster during these games. It's why he has so many bizarre or insane interactions with refs or opposing teams fan bases.
Nardi was ready for that and immediately got him back on the sidelines...Colonia to the rescue. And its not like there were 5 seconds left. They were never gonna call that tech but moving forward they should. You shouldn’t be allowed to run on the court if time is still on the clock.
The announcer was calling for the technical on Malachi smith who was in the game, and didn’t leave the bench. Duke also called timeout immediately after the shot went in so it’s a dead ball. They were never gonna call that tech but moving forward they should. You shouldn’t be allowed to run on the court if time is still on the clock.
No one one the bench came far enough away not the court to warrant a technical. The guy in white gets the farthest but runs right back to the bench. And this is well after the TO was called. It wasn’t Malachi Smith, looked like a bottom end bench player but he was clearly on the court before a timeout was called

Jerry Walker tells some stories where Mr. Hurley came down to Seton Hall to straighten out his former players. And Jerry was more scared of Mr. Hurley than anyone else. It almost sounds to me PJ was tough but didn't bring the same family environment that I think Danny brings. I think a lot of people can handle that abuse when you have that family type atmosphere outside the court. Makes me wonder if PJ was all business all of the time. I think Danny's players know he loves them. I don't think he felt that here. What I find odd about Hurley was that he had a hard time with PJ’s coaching methods. He gave a lot of credit to George Blaney when he coached at Seton Hall. But he is even more volatile than PJ.
interesting he coaches more like PJ- a coach he did not respond to very well.
I’m an idiot. Of course it was a botched chest bump. I was led to believe that Hurley struggles to carry himself professionally when he’s full of emotion. Just fake newsDan Hurley: Thought NCAA tournament ref was looking to chest-bump

Dan Hurley: Thought NCAA tournament ref was looking to chest-bump
UConn coach Dan Hurley downplayed his bizarre interaction with an official at the end of Sunday's NCAA tournament victory against Duke, saying he thought the referee was looking to "chest-bump me to celebrate."www.espn.com
100% correctWe should be thanking Danny. We've gotten more exposure this week than we did in the last two years. Danny went to Seton Hall. Danny playing in his SH jersey. Danny met his wife at SH. Danny’s son went to SH. Danny gives Sha major props
In an interview. Since the start of the tourney he's done more for us than our entire marketing department since the NIT.
