As expected. This makes me happy and I will look forward to watching her improve over her career and enjoy the fact that she wants to be here.
I imagine not a lot of other bigs to go up against outside of AAU. She has the frame, just needs to the confidence to use it.It was a massive jump from Wasilla high school, Alaska, to major college bb. The potential is there IMO. As Skydog stated, she is in the right place to improve. I think we see a big jump by mid-season next year.
I can see her turning into a Czinano with more size.you can't teach size, and Layla has that
if she can develop a midrange jumper and make her layups she could turn out to be a decent player for the hawks
A midrange is asking a lot based on where she is today. I think if she can just develop better footwork and awareness of what's happening around her on the court that would be a huge plus next year.you can't teach size, and Layla has that

This wasn’t really a recommitment I guess, I just took the opportunity to publicize it since she answered someone’s question.Excellent
Still weird that we now celebrate annual recommitments, but thus is the world

The first job in the portal era, is to keep current players. Obviously several misses earlier this week...Excellent

From what I remember she made several mid range jumpers early in the season. She does have that skill. That's why I thought it was weird that she's such a poor free throw shooter.....A midrange is asking a lot based on where she is today. That's gotta be priority one with her. I never want to see another sub 60 percent free throw shooter getting substantial minutes and Layla was sub 40% in conference play. If she can't fix that next year she probably needs to be shown the doorFrom what I remember she made several mid range jumpers early in the season. She does have that skill. One of them I'm sure is waiting for the right offer before declaring that she's leaving. Not that I want ANY of the remaining Hawks to leave, but at this point, with two players already indicating they are leaving, what's the hold up for announcing they'd either be staying or leaving at this point? I'm sure there are many factors.
