But you can’t say anything about pride week!
NO Shat!....but it was MONTH!But you can’t say anything about pride week!
Errr...what happened for those that have been on a pier all day?But you can’t say anything about pride week!
What do you think your response rate is on normal sports topics and topics that could have a political lean?Context below...
Ivey-
“The world proclaims LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does too. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’“
Bulls' Coch Donovan-
“Just inside the Bulls, we have people from all different kinds of backgrounds,” Donovan told reporters. “And whether it’s coaches, from the top, it’s always been we’re all going to work well together, we’re going to accept each other. We’re going to be hard working, we’re going to be respectful and we’re going to be professional.
“… There’s certain standards I think we want to have as an organization and live up to those each and every day.”

98/2?

Get 17ed, clown- you started this thread. And it's about an athlete getting in trouble...which is actually a very normal topic.
yep. You just described Desoto perfectly********This is the mirror image of "go woke, go broke" right? Knowing your audience?
NBA fanbases are a bunch of upper middle class millennial hipster liberals who wear glasses frames with no lenses and don't want to cheer for a homophobic player.

ETA: and me for that matter
Man went from a decent post to a Candace Owens real quick!!Btw- The Bulls are owned by a Jew and the NBA is primarily owned and ran by Jews. They commanded thís.
I’m not outraged are surprised. Can’t wait for the people that were “done” with the NBA for 20 years and literally couldn’t name 10 players in it to feign outrage.
Amazing how people’s true character comes out when a righteous light is shined on them. They’re calling evil good. I liked Vrabel, but shame on him in this case. Is Vrabel going to show Henderson what it means to have pride?TreVeyon Henderson of the New England Patriots supported Ivey by posting a bible verse, Matthew 5:10-
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Now Patriots Coach Mike Vrabel says that TreVeyon Henderson needs to be educated.
The NFL and NBA hate Christianity.
Btw- The Bulls are owned by a Jew and the NBA is primarily owned and ran by Jews. They commanded thís.
This assessment is not rooted in reality. The problem is not the athlete or the statements made by any athlete, the problem is that these leagues take the stance to support a specific thing (pride month, BLM, etc) that is separate from the sport itself, causing the players to feel that they need to voice their side when it is differs. If these leagues would just stick to their sport, then the players wouldn't feel the need to comment on stuff outside of the sport.
This. Just stay the 17 out of all of it and play basketball. If players want to say stuff, ok fine. I can choose to ignore them. The problem is not the athlete or the statements made by any athlete, the problem is that these leagues take the stance to support a specific thing (pride month, BLM, etc) that is separate from the sport itself, causing the players to feel that they need to voice their side when it is differs. I actually agree with you. But why does the league get to pick and choose what they support and advertise but the players can't make comments. This assessment is not rooted in reality.
You seriously think that if a league didn't show support for various issues/causes, players in that league would refrain from commenting on stuff outside the sport?
Come on.
That isn't how people work. Social media is filled with people commenting on shít their company isn't involved in.
And in your fairytale scenario, athletes would still be constantly interviewed by media who would still ask questions about stuff outside of the sport.
Yeah, this isn't true. NBA fanbases are not constructed any differently than the general population. And this is an 80/20 issue where the 80s (also known as normal people) agree with the player's take, but are afraid to speak up about it because of the virtue signaling from the 20. And the 20 uses this like a weapon, because they're pieces of shlt. And organizational leaders (like Billy Donovan in this case) would rather bow to the 20 than take a principled stand because they're gigantic seeping pooswahs. This is the mirror image of "go woke, go broke" right? Knowing your audience?

He said alot more than his beliefs on homosexuality.I actually agree with you. But why does the league get to pick and choose what they support and advertise but the players can't make comments.
The players union should be all over this. Its a slap in the face to them.
If you think that 80% of Americans or 80% of NBA fans agree with his statements, you are very out of touch with reality.Yeah, this isn't true. This isn't about taking a side. It's about allowing diversity of thought. That's only allowed when the 20s align with the opinion being made.
NBA: Lift every black voice! But you can’t say anything about pride week!
This is the biggest problem you wackadoo nutjobs have. You think your echo chamber is much bigger than it is.If you think that 80% of Americans or 80% of NBA fans agree with his statements, you are very out of touch with reality.

So just release him.He said alot more than his beliefs on homosexuality.
Is that enough to get cut from a team? I think it’s debatable with all the wild things said and done by other players. It looks like to me that was used as the excuse to release him because his on the court production has cratered since his rookie year.
If you think 80% of americans are ok with him getting cut for his comments its you who has a reality problem. If you think that 80% of Americans or 80% of NBA fans agree with his statements, you are very out of touch with reality.
The NBA has a history of having selective punishment for various instances. Now this wasn’t any kind of punishment he was just released. If I remember correctly, Kyrie Irving said some antisemitic things and I think supported a film or a video that was antisemitic and he lost a bunch of endorsements and can’t remember if he was suspended or not. But this guy isn’t Kyrie Irving so off you goSo just release him.
But you are 100% correct. What he said isn't even close to what a lot of players get away with on a regular basis. So don't be hypocritical.
He was suspended “indefinitely” and I think had to call the owner of the Nets to apologize. Think it lasted 4 or 5 games. The NBA has a history of having selective punishment for various instances. Speaking of things that haven’t aged well, Kyrie not being able to play because he refused to take the vaccine is on the Mt. Rushmore of bad decisions. Hindsight is 20/20 but that looks like a terrible decision from the league now.The NBA has a history of having selective punishment for various instances. Yeah that was it. I knew there was some sort of punishment but couldn’t remember off the top of my head.He was suspended “indefinitely” and I think had to call the owner of the Nets to apologize. Think it lasted 4 or 5 games.
That wasn’t the league’s decision. It was the state of New York. He would have been allowed to play if he wasn’t in Brooklyn, but The Nets decided the whole thing was a distraction and told him that he couldn’t be a part time player so he didn’t play at all.Speaking of things that haven’t aged well, Kyrie not being able to play because he refused to take the vaccine is on the Mt. This is part of the problem with that side. They conflate things and make straw man arguments. If you think 80% of americans are ok with him getting cut for his comments its you who has a reality problem.
