Kate was the starting PG for the East team last night and she will be the starting point guard for us next year. There is no way she can sit the bench with all the accolades she has just received recently. The only thing that can stop her is her shoulder injuries from the past. Go Heels!
I recall you saying the same thing about Brooks last offseason. Not sure she even started one game this past season. Hmmmmm
Yes DSPHeel I did say that, but here is the difference blw what I said last year to this year. Number 1, LG just entered the portal. Number 2, Kate H was the name the National Player of the Year for women's high school basketball. Jazzy Davidson won this last year. Being name the National Player of the Year means you have to be consider to be one of the best or the best player coming out of high school. There is no way the National Player of the year is going to come in and sit the bench. All of them have come into college and started. Kate is going to start. There is no doubt in my mind after seeing her play in the McDonalds AAU game. You can take this to the bank.
Believe a lot of us had questions about her defense, and from what she showed in the McDonald's game she belongs in the starting lineup. Probably would have been in the starting lineup if LG would have stayed. Maybe that was one of the determining factors upon her entering the portal.
I surely did have question about her defense, but after the McDonald's game, I was dead wrong. She has toughness, grit, high IQ, can score using her body like DK, can defend. She is the total package. She will definitely start in my book, and to add icing on the cake she was just was named the Morehead National Women's Basketball Player of the Year. We are saw how efficient the offense flowed we she came back in the game with a hurt shoulder injury for the east squad. Go Heels!
Bottom line, We need to get a 5 and a wing that can help us make a deep run in the NCAAT? This is the last time I am going to say this. Do we want to stay at being a sweet 16 team? or Do we want to advance beyond the sweet 16? If the answer is the second one then we are going to have to bring in more talent to do that. They players that we have at the 4 and 5 right now are not going to move the needle. There are too many good and elite players in the portal right now that we need to be looking at and going after. You are going to have to pump out some money bottom line if you want to move the needle.
