Jinxy: You obviously love (and obsess over) this trans stuff. Good for you in admitting it.
It’s actually interesting how often Angry Gump posts about the trans community - it means the content fills his social media feed or he - for whatever reason - seeks it out.

Either way - what does that accomplish for our friend Angry Gump? Is he curious about the lifestyle and feels the need to “publicly” denounce it? Does he have unfulfilled kinks in his life? A strange man indeed…

What I think of with the trans rights debate....ok, I'm older than just about all of you. The arguments over trans, both sides, lean on to both the biological and rights issues. To the best of my knowledge, the biological hasn't changed since my youth, and the rghts of Americans were solidified in the civil rights act.

So, we had no issues at all, that I can remember from my birth until just a couple of years ago with people who are transgender. How did we get to this point where something that has apparently existed forever (if I believe the biological arguments) has become one of the most debated issues of our time?

Pay attention to who's talking about it and you'll get your answer. Its a tiny fringe issue that Republicans are weaponizing for political purposes. With the mid-terms coming up, the attack plan appears to be trans, DEI and how those libs want to raise your taxes and give the money to lazy fats.

well, I haven't heard the part about raising taxes and giving the lonely to lazy fats...raising taxes yet.

Personally, I think that if one group stopped pushing boys in girls sports, boys in girls bathrooms, the issue goes away. I don't know of anybody, not even the most far right person, that has any interest in taking away the basic rights of a transgender person. They might make "fun" of them because they seem different, but, heck, people make fun of me because I don't see the word "date" as meaning "bang"

80% of Americans agree that biological men shouldn't participate in women's sports and Trump signed an executive order titled Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports in February 2025 that resulted in the NCAA updating it's policy to limit women's sports competitions to biological females only. The IOC did the same for the 2028 Olympics.

So we're talking about roughly 5 people out of hundreds of thousands. I don't know who is pushing for this other than some on the fringes that I don't even know about, hear about or listen to. The only reason you do is because the right wants to weaponize the issue, even though nobody would be up in arms if it was ended entirely. And I'm not sure what you mean about one group because noted lefty lesbian Martina Navratilova is one of the loudest voices opposed to men participating in women's sports.

This is much ado about nothing but Republicans want you to believe this is part of the Democrat party platform. It's not.

EDIT: most mornings are filled with cries from piggy, MTTtiger and scotch wailing about taxes and lazy fats so not sure how you missed it.

Here's one thread but there are others.

you're right I misinterpreted your original post. I originally interpreted your post as democrats wanting to raise taxes and giving the money to lazy fats.

In retrospect what you were saying was that was what people on the right were saying about libs would do.

my mistake

lots of people don't need to wait, they don't want to hear it at $4 gas..most don't much care about 8% mortgages as they're not giving up their 2.5%. But economic conditions need to change drastically and rapidly for most Americans.
