Back when i used to hangout at the Sanderson (2000-2003) there was this incredible badminton player. He was Asian (not being racist, just facts). Couldn’t remember his name, although there couldn’t have been more than five letters total for first and last name. This kid could serve an ace that would instill fear in the largest of men. The backhand was a thing of beauty. He sported the maroon and white better than anyone IMO

Margum. TA and Rowdy were a heck of a combo too. Current player would say Chance without a doubt. He just gets it done.

Q Weatherspoon. Mississippi kid. Signed in Ray/Howland transition class. Undervalued compared to his counterpart Malik Newman. Starred on 2 losing teams. Gets season ending injury plays through it for 3 months. His career ends with us back in the tournament for the first time in a decade. Forgot to add, gets drafted and wins an NBA title

My first thought goes to Dak, but he had a lot of natural talent. I would say maybe Fitz, not highly recruited, a hard worker, tough as nails who loves State
If I understand your question, I would say for football, maybe Fletcher Cox or Bernardrick McKenny? Fitz is a good one too. Generally underrated guys that get the job done (although I think Cox was highly rated out of high school?)

For basketball, Brandon Vincent and Barry Stewart (which it was really hard for me to remember his actual name was not Randy)? Barry Stewart was one of the few players that got better every year. Really had overachieved by his senior year. But if we're talking about talent, probably Timmy Bowers, Daryl Wilson, and Eric Dampier over them?
