No surprise. Heck, one of the Trump supporters on this board claimed that publicly proclaiming you'd be dating (read: banging) your daughter, if only you weren't related, is the highest compliment you can pay your daughter. No, it doesn't.

There's a reason that, when you go places with family members (out to eat, to the movies, etc.) you don't say you're "dating" them. Because "dating" implies romantic feelings (or the possibility of developing them), and romantic feelings eventually progress to sex, if pursued on a long enough timeline.

Just like if you marry someone, you didn't explicitly say you are banging them, or will bang them ... but it's implied that it's the natural state of things.

So, to sum ... the difference between "dating" and "going places with" someone (ESPECIALLY a family member) is their comparative natural state of things ... the natural progression, if it keeps going ... is that, in one case, you will bang that person, and in the other case you will NOT bang that person.

It's the whole reason the term "dating" exists - to indicate to others, and each other, that you are exploring the possibility of, or the further development of, a romantic connection ... which will, as appropriate, eventually lead to banging if it continues down the path, at whichever speed you want it to progress.

good one..in my day we didn't have the extent of the gay movement we have had in the most recent past.

I'm sure I'll upset people, but this is the way it was back in the '50s/60's: In my community - Baltimore city - we had the normal community teams, all age groups 8-10.10-12, 14-16. and we were all he men ...all except one boy - he was different....but at the time none of knew why, but our parents and their friends whispered the "Q" word - it just wasn't a big thing. And, none of us cared.

And to be honest, I can't even remember when it became a big deal. At the time we treated our friend as any other. We knew he didn't like sports and his parents kept him relatively secluded but he came to school every day, we interfaced with him and treated him just like every other friend.

Now, to be sure, back in our day, holding hands was a big deal....not on a first date for sure..you had to really "like" someone to get to that stage....ah the good old days. I could take my now wife (59years) out to dinner for $10 which included tax and tip.

of course all of this was before our generation destroyed America for everyone coming after

This shouldn’t need to be explained again. You keep confusing the entirely factual assertion that “dating = banging” with banging on the first date, or banging … whenever.

Again, you go on a date with someone, hoping something romantic may develop. Whether that’s that first date, or years down the road … that’s the case. That's been the case in EVERY generation. When you’re “dating” someone, that means, you’ve established some form of romantic affection for one another … and that can manifest itself however, at whatever pace you want. But, ultimately, eventually you’re going to bang if the relationship continues.

What may, or may not have changed over the years ... over generations ... is how quickly in the dating progress the physicality progresses ... but that does nothing to change the fact that dating is, in fact, as someone else stated ... a mating ritual.
