Over the years I have changed from hating ( envy) Geno and UConn WBB to appreciating how he made UConn into such a power and when it seemed he might be losing his touch, the program roared back and ended any thought of that.

Geno is a tough no nonsense head coach who is able to recruit elite players who are willing to accept the team concept moreso than their individual achievement.

I give UCONN fans credit. They said he was classless and their conference does them no favors. Big East woman's conference stinks. They never have a tough conference road game.

Absolute classless behavior by Geno tonight. He’s a great coach and his legacy is already cemented. He’s cut down a lot of nets and earned the spotlight UConn has held for decades. Tonight the better team won. And Geno’s tantrum took away from SCs moment to celebrate. Sad and pathetic.

UConn loss becaus Fudd and Strong had miserable shooting stats including missed layups.South Carolina defense stopped Uconn from getting open shots with player movement and instead forced them to dribble the ball causing turnovers.Staley was the better head coach. Both Geno and Staley have big egos which is the reason they hate each other. The foul discrepancy favoring South Carolina happens based on how rerferees call the game.

post game he mentioned wasn't happy with pregame coach meet/handshake ,and that she made him wait. no idea what that means.

he certainly came across as a sad crying old man with no answers for his team during that in game interview. talking about a ripped jersey that the girl did herself lol.

I'm no fan of Staley and there is video of her ranting "I'll beat Geno's ***" after the post game confrontation , but don't blame her for snapping ,took away from her team's great win. I thought her girls played like winners, under control and really emotionless , really focused throughout the surgical win.

bizarre stuff though for sure

Geno lost and ended the season looking like a classless sore loser.
Dawn might not deserve any sympathy for here actions, but Geno is the one that deserves to be condemned.

edited to say: Geno put out an apology concerning his behavior
>"There's no excuse for how I handled the end of the game vs. South Carolina," Auriemma said in a statement issued through the school. "It's unlike what I do and what our standard is here at Connecticut. I want to apologize to the staff and the team at South Carolina. It was uncalled for in how I reacted. The story should be how well South Carolina played, and I don't want my actions to detract from that. I've had a great relationship with their staff, and I sincerely want to apologize to them."<

One thing I'd like to add was table of fools and influences ESPN had commenting on the game took away some of the enjoyment, fo me, watching the game.
Especially at the end when two influences , ESPN had commenting all through the game , seemed to be mocking a UConn player crying, while on the floor playing., as the clock ran down.

you will NEVER see anything from mainstream media that says Dawn Staley was out coached

instead you will always get this

hard to take women's game seriously the way it's covered
