Correct. Anyone that thinks otherwise needs to get outside of their echo chamber.
You’d need to go somewhere like Murray or Western for a place like this not to exist. Translation, only places that don’t care don’t have places like this. If parents or players get effected by this board, they’re too soft to be a difference here.

No doubt when a player steps to the free throw line late in the game with the score tied, his first response is to tighten up in fear of what RR will say if he misses.

Not entirely impossible this board helped people like Matt Jones and The Legion of Doom guage fan sentiment and know how/when to rally people and drive out end-stage Calipari and Tubby, respectively. So we may have done some good despite ourselves.

The only people who pay attention to message boards are the people who post on them, and probably some media members just trying to get the pulse of a fan base. If a message board scares a recruit off, then it probably wouldn't have been the best place for them to start with.

The few negative post about our newest recruit was appalling . Lousy. Cheap . Disgusting. We get a good four star kid whose dad played in the NBA and some idiots could not help themselves but to be negative rather than congratulate and welcome him. I am embarrassed for them .
If this board affects KY basketball, the program is irrelevant and it is foolish to talk blue blood status. It has no effect.
Never been on any other board, except UofL years ago, and most of their stuff, no matter how good or bad UofL was or was not did not matter, 60% of their post were hate UK crap. They were obsessed with their hate.
How, would your small brain care to elaborate. I have no idea if they do come onto this site, but if they did, why would they come here the way some on here just rip players, coaches etc. And if they do this same crap on other public sites which I don't do twitter, etc I know it would chase players away. My only hope is they stay off these sites. Granted I believe about 50% of the crap posted is done by trolls.
If a message board like this can hurt a program to any level of significance then its not a program worth anything .
What do you think was happening on the KU and UNC boards when they lost? Or the Bama boards since Saban retired? Or a million other examples. We aren't special or different.

Exactly. The LOD posters bury their heads in the sand about the effects fans and fan media have on the program, but there's no ignoring how it has made the officiating even worse. There have been a lot of bad situations between fans and families of coaches and recruits due to social media like this board, but it's not the board, it's the people posting venom constantly or consistently.

Well if you blame fans for the situation at UK I guess Duke also won't get anymore good players because of what their fans posted about Boozer. Also Ohio State football will suck because of the wild things their fans said about their players.....

I'd argue the people making those kinds of posts are people that actually aren't fans of UK, and so we'll continue to do this dance until common sense is restored by letting Pope free into the wild. The most disturbing thing in this thread is we have Ohio St football fans here 
I kind of always thought of this as a place for fans to gather… celebrate and complain… I don’t see it having a big impact at all but remember years ago when Scott Van Pelt of ESPN referenced Rupp Rafters live on the air when talking about UK basketball fans being crazy and over the top. He actually used to read and I believe even post on here.

Nobody cares about this stuff. And even the social media items ... it happens everywhere. Look at Cayden Boozer's social ... people were saying all kind of mean things to him.
