I know people hate Uconn and Hurley and for very valid reasons. He's a turd, and they've been huge thorns in our sides, stopping us from two titles potentially. But to me, Uconn is absolutely a lesser or two evils. They earn their wins, whether they come at the expense of UK or not. They aren't getting any help like Duke gets, they don't have teams filled with NBA players.. they've won their hardware the right way, IMO, on the backs of very good coaching from Calhoun and Hurley.
And as for them (or Duke) catching us in titles.. at some point, Kentucky needs to be the one to put a stop to that, instead of just hoping teams don't catch us. Sure, I don't want Uconn to catch us in titles.. But 1. we aren't even #1 in titles to begin with and 2. Nearly half of our titles came before the Korean war. I hate to say it, but our titles in the 40's really aren't far off from the Helms titles we make fun of, now that it's 2026.
SO if Uconn were to pass us in titles someday, because Kentucky hasn't been a relevant program in 30 years aside from some great years of John Calipari.. then it is what it is. I'm not rooting for it, but maybe Kentucky doesn't deserve to be 2nd in titles then.. Oh well. If I'm being blunt and honest, Kentucky absolutely deserves to be losing out on some of these records for the product we've put on the floor since 1998.
