ESPN must not be happy with this Final Four

I was never happier to see UConn win anything more than I was last night. Duke and its fans need a dose of humility and heartbreak once in a while.

PS - Dan Hurley is a great coach but a really unlikable guy.
For most college basketball fans , agree Danny is unlikeable .
a quick google has this about how UConn fans feel about him
>UConn fans generally adore Dan Hurley, viewing him as an elite, high-intensity leader who restored the program to national powerhouse status with back-to-back National Championships. Supporters embrace his aggressive, passionate sideline antics as "culture-building" rather than mere acting, appreciating his dedication to winning above being liked<
Liking or disliking a HC depends on what side you're on .
For Rutgers fans Hurley is a jerk whose antics make him detestable, for Connecticut fans his behavior is part of his endearing charm

Hurley sideline antics wouls get him fired at losing programs. At UConn he is considered a great coach because he wins at a very high level such as three NCAA Final Four appearances in the last four years.Winning matters but at Rutgers there always are obstacles to success,

Not gonna lie, I like him. He’s unapologetically a Jersey a-hole, intense, aggressive with a native tongue of sarcasm and f bombs. But he still seems to do things the right way.

His sideline antics wouldn't get him fired at a losing program.
The losing would.

A mild mannered Hurley would also get fired at a losing program.
No school keeps a coach who keeps losing just because hes a "nice guy".

Well....I guess at least one does....

His players would run through a wall for him - and he’d do the same for them. His comments on how much he hates dealing with players agents and entourages are awesome.

I’m sure there are plenty of coaches who are the same - just put up a facade for the public (even our own guys have said Pike is incredibly intense and that never comes across in public). Hurley is who he is and really doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him.

Also that viral video of his mom after the Mullins shot falls kind of makes it clear he’s an apple that didn’t fall too far from the tree.

i've rooted for all of the Hurleys ever since I saw my first St. Anthony's game. I just wish one of them had decided to play at Rutgers or take the head coaching job here. But having rooted for Rutgers since my high school days back when Joey Theismann and Drew Pearson were the stars of my South River Rams...I've kinda got used to New Jersey's best ignoring Rutgers and going elsewhere.

I'm sure there are some at ESPN that are angry that Big East basketball not only still exists, but is producing Final Four and National Championship teams despite their efforts to destroy it.

Ha, the Big East did that on their own. It could have become more relevant than the ACC if it actually had any vision 20 years ago.

Make no mistake, I would love him if he came here and won a national championship.

I am pretty sure ESPN is most unhappy about the fact that they have Arizona and Michigan playing Saturday and not in the Final game, since that far and away will be the most anticipated game.

Agreed

Read his biography, I guarantee you will enjoy it, plus see a different side of him. He's very honest about all of his warts.

You either love or hate the Hurley's, bottom line, they play/give 110% to win the game.

Bob Sr was not the most "adored" person/coach out there, however he gave much more back than he took.

What's the old adage, nice guys finish last, and RU has good ol Pike šŸ˜†
