At least I assume NIL is why this is possible. You can hire a college athlete as a mentor: https://athletetoathlete.com/

Obviously, your 6-figure NIL earners won't be doing this, but I can see it being something that the athletes in the non-revenue sports could earn some decent pocket cash doing, and maybe some of your lower NIL football players and such.

There's a ton of parents out there who think their kid has a future in sports, and they're all looking for an edge.

Athletes being able to paid for working in Summer sports camps was a key thing argued for in the pre NIL discussions. Think girl tennis players, golfers, volleyball players, etc. being able to work and get paid for camps.

This is the part of NIL that I love and makes sense.
