Why do South Carolinians keep voting for Madam Lindsey?

Most people I know don’t really care for him, but they also aren’t going to vote for someone who will support dem policies in the senate. So until a decent candidate can knock him off in the primary, power bottom is the guy.
ok, not defending or not defending Lindsey Graham...but, from the photo it looks like Graham is indoors. From experience, I can tell you that the vast majority of restaurants down here keep their indoor temperatures near "meat locker" levels and lots of people wear jackets or sweaters. I know I do
People like Lindsey because he's an Israel first politician. Also, they appreciate that he keeps his lifestyle folded neatly and in a box in his closet.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lindsey has the voting rigged in SC. What other explanation is there for his continued reelection?
He has the state political infrastructure behind him. That helps along with poor candidate quality and general disinterest in the primaries.
Him and Ted Cruz deserve each other. I wish they would elope.

He does indeed have the political infrastructure behind him. We elected Strom when he was a Weekend at Bernies dude, so South Carolinians have a history of supporting the political machine.

I went to one of his town halls in like 2017 and actually left that thing feeling like he was the best I (a Democrat, to be sure) could reasonably hope for from the state of South Carolina. He had measured takes on a lot of things and sounded like a generally sane person.

Because this state is one of the poorest and least educated in the country. Poor and uneducated people tend to vote against their own interests.

Trump endorses him. That's enough in SC. AND ALL you Trumpians on here bitching about him will be voting for him come election day (EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!). Because Trump is telling you to. THAT'S the reason he gets reelected.

We disagree a lot, but I think you have a good take on this. Perhaps Boone as well. I would be beyond shocked if it turns out that Lindsey Graham is not gay. He presents himself that way, whether he thinks so or not. But he has never acknowledged it, at least not publicly. So he remains in the closet. Maybe not fully, but enough so that South Carolinians can continue voting for him. Slavish support of Trump is more important to them than Lindsey's apparent sexual orientation. But if Lindsey were to put his sexual orientation in the voters' faces, I suspect that might be the straw the broke the camel's back.
I will indeed be voting for him on election day, because the democrats will put up an awful candidate that is much worse than Lyndsey. Not a doubt in my mind. Now, if they could put up a decent candidate i would consider voting for them.

Except the dems have an exceptional candidate, a doctor in fact. With the biggest measles outbreak in the nation, SC needs someone like this instead of a toady servant like Lady G.

It wouldn't even matter bud... Trump's given you your marching orders. You can tell yourself that you think the Democrat is worse, hell you probably even believe that. But in the end it doesn't matter. The bottom line is that IF you want to be a Republican these days, you answer to one man, and one man only... disagreement is not tolerated. So line up, cast your vote the way you are told to, call those Dems sheep while you do it, and most importantly, tell yourself how indepentent minded you are.

But hey, he did deport a lot of folks in 2025 (the start of his 2nd term), but not as many as Obama did in 2013 (the start of HIS 2nd term). And ICE hardly shot any US Citizens while the Administration lied about them being terrorists, under Obama.

The problem is they are being bought and sold every day. I’d love to strip them of power and resources but the problem is folks are cutting them big checks because they expect a big return on investment.
I guess part of it is that it’s not a very desirable job. None of the smartest people I know have ever had any interest in politics. They would rather donate to their campaign and have the politician do what they want them to do.
1. The guy has a huge war chest. Anybody taking him on better have money and the political game to match.
2. The guy (his team) does what they were voted to do. They take care of constituents. His state office is pretty responsive. Personal anecdote, I have to reach out to his office on several occasions regarding veteran benefits. His team always come through. Pretty sure there are more stories like mine.

I saw Senator Graham at a grocery store in Columbia yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off.
When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen copies of a sultry magazine in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each mag and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
