Grew up a fan of olemiss (his parents went to olemiss). JoJo was a State fan; this according to the article about their commitment to State when they committed. I don’t understand it all but if I had to guess the family isn’t hardcore olemiss and it sounds like Jojo was the more vocal/leader of the twins. I did see an interview where Jacob said they didn’t want to go to olemiss b/c they are stuck up at olemiss. I was surprised he said that but he did.

Jacob comes from an affluent family. He is not a hired gun. He is at MSU because he grew up a fan but more-so he is a situation that will promote his personal and professional goals.
An affluent family doesn't always translate into a huge inheritance, he will be paid.

Didn't know there was any affluence in Purvis....guess maybe I'm out of the loop..not that it matters.
Sumrall and Purvis both are having some big expensive homes being built. I take it as people than can are pushing out of Oak Grove. Both schools are 5a thís year.

Holy 17 can we pay this guy enough money to keep him for the next couple of years? Man he has one of the best looking swings and just hit another out of the stadium in right field for 6 HR's this season. I have a feeling he's just getting warmed up.
Where else is he going to go? We are paying him big baseball money already. No one else is going to pay a baseball player a lot more money than we are paying him. That’s why he wasn’t drafted. He had a signing figure and if he slid past it, he let it be known he could get that kind of money while in Starkville. That’s why no one took him until the meaningless 19th round.

I know some of the Parkers. It’s a decent size family with several branches that has been around Purvis for a long time. As a whole, and this is an educated guess, they are probably one of the oldest and more well off families there; but this is Purvis we are talking about. I could be totally off base as this is another educated guess and I’ve never seen any of their tax returns, but I’m guessing that if you put the more well off of the bunch in Canebrake, they wouldn’t stand out. Being rich or affluent is relative.

All of that said, the boys’ father has quite a story that says a lot about his character. Broke his neck in a hs football game, paralyzed from the neck down, but went to law school and is now a lawyer and I think was elected county attorney or something similar. He married his physical therapist. I’ve only heard good about them.

His dad is lamar county court judge here. He was county attorney. His dad is a very good man. Awesome family. No idea about their financial situation but who cares. He has raised two great men.

I believe the Parker parents went to USM and met there. He probably went to Ole Miss Law.

I know. Again, it was over his tenure at State. He’ll be here 3 years.

Maybe he wanted to play in college and enjoy the experience. Sometimes it's not about the money you want to remember your chances growing up because when he has to play for a job the fun sometimes is not there. People it's not all about money, sometimes you want to have fun and enjoy life.
