I realize it’s not fair to compare most college baseball atmospheres to Dudy Noble, but Swayze was dead today. The crowd didn’t get there until the second inning, was gone by the seventh and never seemed to care. They were louder complaining about Head’s strike zone early than celebrating the run they scored. Friday night was a better atmosphere, until Chone sucked all the air out of the stadium in the 9th. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think tomorrow will be half full unless it’s a Dawg takeover.
We’ve still got to play well to win on the field, but we won’t have to battle a hostile crowd. They’ve already conceded this season less than three weekends in.

Can’t hit or pitch worth a damn, and our defense comes and goes. Other than that we are pretty good. What’s maddening is the fact that coach MB continues to have support from at least enough people to save his job. It’s past time to build him a statue and fire him.

Your pitching looked pretty good the past couple of days to me, but don’t make the mistake of comparing the rebels to the bulldogs in baseball.

Don’t tell most fake plantation owners or at least the ones I know that they don’t care about baseball. It ruffles their feathers. They so badly want to have what we have in baseball.
Fact.

This is epitomized by one of their 2022 players stating that MSU’s NC the year before was their inspiration.

Be careful what you wish for. If you don’t like the Bianco era, think you’re going to be very disappointed in the post-Bianco era.

What is funny, is we own those losers in everything but football and women's basketball (honestly don’t care about that one). If we can get football back we have are the better spot across all sports.

I think they are at the point we were with Polk II. Just kind of going through the motions, no excitement, complacency. And with football taking so much bandwidth, not much appetite to 17 with baseball plus they know they are 'good enough' with Bianco.

Even I can see you've got a pretty solid pitching staff. And you'd be incredibly fortunate to hire a guy close to as good as Bianco if you fire him.

I could see Dan McDonnell making that move for enough money. I think he needs a change of scenery at UL.

Doubtful if McConnell would want to go head to head with O'Conner in this small SEC state from an ego standpoint. He would lose.

This is an interesting take. If BOC is as dominant as I expect him to be, it may actually be hard for Ole Miss to go out and get a proven coach after Bianco.

The announcers mentioned this in the last innings that the right field seats were empty and that was an indication something was wrong.

Sounded like Richard Cross on the SEC Network call today was it?

The clip I heard sounded kinda professional - but you know it had to eat him up if it was him.

That faux “outfield” is a true microcosm of Old Miss. They will tell you how great and rich they are until they’re blue in the face. Then you see behind the curtain to see a $4000 (at best) retaining wall project that’s 20 feet behind the outfield wall and 10 feet away from a literal dumpster.

This is what I heard on Friday's broadcast.

"Right field is the place to be. They talk about Left field but right field is where its at"

It wasn't Cross. He was actually less of a homer.

I went Saturday, several empty seats all around me in the grandstands, those that were there started leaving around the 5th inning. They do this synchronized dance around the 7th inning, supposedly it is something that originated at football games we were told? around the 8th inning they started Hotty Toddy and we almost felt sorry for them, there was no enthusiasm and sounded more like a bunch of State Fans were being forced to do it because they had lost a bet, We were treated well and didn't have any issues I will say. Claims to be on par with the Dude are greatly exaggerated, not even in the same conversation. My wife still is laughing about the middle of the game where several 4 wheelers zoom around the aprons and warning track throwing hot dogs into the stands. She looked at me and said "and they call us redneck"?

I don't think coaches really think like that.

But either way, it'll just depend on how much money Ole Miss is willing to pay and how committed they truly are to baseball. They've never had to commit before, Bianco built the whole thing, and the fan following came after.

Exactly. They will not commit to baseball. They are a football school, in the tradition of Vaught, Brewer, Tuberville, Nutt, Coach O, he-who-shall-not-be-named, and Gelding.

Well, in their defense, If I knew that yet another in a many year run of *** beatings was coming I wouldn't be excited about getting to the game on time or staying the whole time or do a lot of cheering. What would their cheer be? hotty toddy, we're getting our *** beat with a big steel roddy.
