Has been really good, the wind got that and took it.
That just can’t happen. Wind and sun for sure, but that looked more on communication
The two players involved in that play have a fielding percentage of 1.000.......it's windy as heck in South Bend.
But yes...needs to be caught and that and that non-strike call lead to that HR that should have never happened.

Berkland hits high fly ball to shallow center and I’m going to assume Hull lost it in the sun. French scrambled to try and get over there but couldn’t quite get there. Berkland into second base with a very cheap pop up double.
Coy walks.
Quatrani hits a 3 run homer way gone to CF. Notre Dame takes a 6-4 lead.

It’s insane those go down as earned runs. Make a team error stat or something if you have to, but the pitcher should have had a 1-2-3 inning.
And that goes in the record book as a double, BUT it should have been caught. Tracking has been an issue.
Can’t give extra outs guys. Learn from your mistakes. Hull take charge out there and gobble up all you can.
Inning went awry due to the missed pop up but this is year 3 of Folger Boaz and I know he had the injury but there have been no real signs of improvement during that time period. Might just not be a starter, I foresee a situation similar to last year in the postseason with Haugh moving to the bullpen for Ryan Lynch to start, just with Glauber stepping in for Boaz.
Thanks for linking to live stats! Happy to do play by play for another inning or two but just a warning my kids will be waking up from their naps soon and that will end, ha!
And that's fine! I think there's a role for him, especially as a lefty coming out of the bullpen where we don't have a lot. Probably not a change there though until the postseason because think throughout the year, Glauber more valuable out of the bullpen and helping secure multiple wins a week.

Winslow leads off with a line drive shot to left for a single. Thought he might try to stretch it into a double but he holds at 1.
Hull laces a line drive directly at the right fielder. F9 but solid contact.
Hynek out on a lazy F3 on the first pitch of the at bat.
Howe strikes out swinging. Disappointing to go down on just 8 pitches in the inning after getting a lead off single.

Rules say a fielder can be charged with an error even if they don't the ball if, in the estimation of the scorer, the play could have been made with ordinary effort.
I know but scorers don’t ever give errors if guys lose the ball in the sun or misjudge flyballs or something similar.
