Chavez - hit 5 three`s in OT to beat us at Oklahoma. She had a good game today but I think our defense was so good today nobody was going to let her or anyone else beat us. Outstanding performance and I don`t think we can play any better overall. Our shooting was phenomenal to go along with the D. I think we can win the next game but I don`t think any team is going to beat UConn. Combo of Strong, Fudd, etc. I think is too good would love to be wrong. Texas is playing extremely well also.
Yeah, I was being sarcastic. It just seems to me that the television media would rather not acknowledge our existence; not that I believe we’ll be allowed to get past UConn this year but it was the same way when we won the baseball titles, like ‘oh damn, South Carolina won. Where’d they come from.’
I like Uconn's team, but they have been only tested once or twice. Best team they played was Michigan (at home) and they only won by 3 Points. They played Notre Dame early when that team was struggling and they played Southern Cal and you saw how we just disposed of the Trojans. UConn's conference basically consists of 20 practice games. We can't look past TCU, but I think we have a much better chance this year. I think Texas and UCLA are underrated and I think the Huskies will have to earn it this year if they get to Phoenix.

I predict that we'll beat TCU but lose to Connecticut in the national semifinals. It won't be the blowout last year's finals was.
I share your view on Texas; haven’t seen ucla much. I used the phrase ‘allowed to beat UConn’ based on what I -have- seen lately. If we’re allowed to play the same tournament basketball as UConn I think we have a chance; if we have to play omg don’t defend them or they’ll go to the line and your players will be in foul trouble, we don’t.
chavez and Beers are a dynamic duo being used all wrong. But we shut everything down. Even when we went on a scoring drought, defense never let up.
Tessa is a stone-cold killer. I love her ability to hit the mid-range if they close out on her and she dribble stops and hits the 14-footer. Did that twice and then a step back contested 3 and her only response is to get back on D. Love that humility. The guards were amazing yesterday. OKOT has to play more physical. She should draw fouls by going up through the contact, but she is reluctant. We could outmatch U-Conn. They are faster but smaller. Glad to See Tournebize get a bucket. Next year she will be a force.
I'm not paying over 1M (Chavez asking price) for her to shoot 38%. She had the most points yesterday, but I thought she sort of shot Oklahoma out of the game. Their victory over us illustrated that we had issues guarding Beers in the paint. However, Chavez chucks up 21 shots yesterday and only gets her big girl 9. That's a recipe to get benched on a Dawn Staley team.
I agree about the officiating against UConn. Seems like they get every call that could go either way.
.and watch Geno at the post-game press conference if we get to the Final Four and beat them. He will be bellyaching about how physical we play.
She needs a year of good ole southern cooking to bulk up. Maybe you can hook her up with some Slim Chickens?
Yeah man-bring her on. Maybe we can do an NIL deal with her. Small one- she needs more blocks and rebounds per game and as you say about another 20lbs well distributed. She definitely has the RIZ for a NIL deal.
