I think he's had his hands in both sides of the line over time. Used to be an assistant at Alexander Central also I believe

I'm going to say this just straightforward and not Patty caking it. sometimes you just got to take what you can get when nobody wants to touch the job. Hell if I magically could go get a teaching degree tomorrow and if I apply for that job I probably be given it with no experience. Same thing as South Caldwell

I would be a win it all cost if i could be the Principal or AD at West Caldwell. I sure miss their good years from the 80s.

West needs help in the trenches and probably had little applicants. West can win a couple of games next few years in conference they are in.

Agreed sometimes you have to take what you can get. It doesn’t matter if you want to be win at all cost if your ability to pay a candidate is severely hamstrung by state and local pay.

I hope he does great with his opportunity. It's tough out there to be the HC of a turnaround situation. If he works well with BA and BBall he should be able to get some of those athletes out if they don't already play. Good luck Coach Saffos!

I get what you’re saying, and I respect you being real about it, but that’s kind of the concern right there. When it gets to the point where you’re just “taking what you can get,” that usually means there’s a bigger issue underneath, like why people don’t want the job in the first place.

I agree there’s a shortage and schools are in a tough spot, no doubt. But lowering the bar just to fill a position can end up costing students more in the long run. It’s not just about having someone in the role, it’s about having the right person in the role.

And your point about South Caldwell.........yeah, situations like that happen, but I don’t think that should be the standard we’re okay with. If anything, it should push the conversation toward fixing why these positions are so hard to fill, not just settling because we feel like we have to.
