The center didn't miss receivers by ten yards against Utah and Penn St.
TJ is the better QB. Which is a bad sign because TJ is not a very good QB
TJ is far from a world beater. It’s the fact Rhule and Co. went into the portal for a worse yet more expensive QB. Could have loaded up on a couple RBs and put this supposed improved OL to the test.

Well he's not the runner the other 2 are but he did have a 54 yd run last year.
Colandrea sounds like Taylor Martinez Part 2. This season could be disaster.
Taylor Martinez was a legit D1 upper echelon athlete. With 500+ reasons why the season will likely be dismal, what about the Taylor Martinez comparison will contribute? Throwing off the back foot every time, or throwing for 350 and running for 130 against OK State? Scrambling in the backfield against Wisconsin all night, or running 170 yards for an 80+ yard touchdown vs. Wisconsin? TM could make terrible plays, but he also had thr potential to do things that no one else in CFB could do. We have zero players who can do the latter this year.
We would be significantly better with 2010 TM as our QB this year

You seem to take message board posting too seriously. I give my honest opinions, and I have a very good track record of being right about most things.
I was surprised by the running back today mostly because I was worried about that spot but how good is our DL. Qbs disappointed me as did the receivers. Liked or kickers today and dbs looked adequate.
Martinez was 31-14 as a starter with over 10,000 yards of total offense, even with his goofy throwing arm.
TJ has to vastly improve or Danny K will be the number two. The game was very vanilla, guess I’m one of the few who are looking forward to the season. I know we have a tough schedule but the games have to be played and a lot depends on our opponents injuries and ours, and you all can get in line to blast me! If Nebraska lays an egg Rhule will be gone. If that happens neb will need to hire a coach that will bring half his former team with him because we’ll lose a recruiting class

Rhule lucked into a no-brainer in DR but every other qb decision has been terrible right from the start for Rhule. Obviously I hope we are all wrong and the team is good...but the worse outcome is they are just bad and not terrible. Bad will just extend this nightmare longer. Bringing in a rando qb that nobody wants has spelled doom for Reilly, Frost, and probably Rhule.
It will really suck if Chiles outperforms all of our quarterbacks this year. I’m pretty sure we could have gotten him if we had wanted him.
I'm expecting a 5 win season. That will likely be enough for us to suffer through another year.

But I would like to hear your reasons for thinking TJ is a good QB. And by “good” I mean that he really is capable of competing at a high level against B1G defenses.
I will say on a related note to that, Chiles didn’t have his position locked down at MSU. He was benched at one point and Alessio Milivojevic is a good QB in his own right. There was consternation when he led a TD drive during the closing moments of their game against us but this guy is the real deal and Jonathan Smith should’ve put him in the game sooner. Thank goodness he never did.
The MSU - Northwestern game is one I’m looking forward to as these guys will
be facing each other. The second reason to watch is that David Braun and Pat Fitzgerald are two gritty BIG 10 coaches. I doubt Braun is the better coach but this game has the potential to be a classic salty BIG game.
I guess the good lord won’t let us have a arm like Dylan and running ability like Martinez into one

Pretty sure @NikkiSixx is a HUGE Colandrea fan (for some weird reason). I'm guessing that comment was more about you not thinking he's the best QB we have.
I think he'll be a more turnover prone Diego Pavia, both are sub 5'10" shorties who make exciting plays, are cocky and make some dumb turnovers. Pavia had 36 turnovers in 4 years, Colandrea is at 36 in 3 years.

Wasn’t TJ injured at the end of last year? Not to mention our OL was completely overwhelmed when it came to pass protection. I do know that a lot of people were clamoring for him to get enough NIL so he wouldn’t get poached after his performance in the UCLA game. He looked okay at times yesterday. And I thought Coleandra looked good for the most part. But then again, I thought Zac Lee looked like the real deal in his Spring Game. At the end of the day, no one actually knows crap at this point other than it’s a massive upgrade from Sims, Haarberg and Purdy
