While NIL is very important, many of the basketball teams who spent the most on NIL this year didn't do that great. Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana, BYU, Louisville, North Carolina, Auburn. You have to find the right players who are going to buy in.

I fully support giving Fred a bigger piece of the pie. One thing the idiot AD and Ruhle have proven, throwing money at a problem never takes the place of competent and hard work. The paltry return we are getting from football should justify giving Fred more resources. Seeing that 2/3 empty stadium yesterday was confirmation of what I have been saying. Fan apathy is high. You can certainly debate the "hard work" part of my statement but the "competent" part speaks for its self. I see different players on the field so far, but am not seeing where we will be able to compete in league play. How many of our better players came through the portal vs being recruited? And right there you have it.

Fred is a good coach who is at a program that doesn't draw much recruiting water. The portal is a nice tool for him and if he can sustain this level of play, the HS recruiting should pick up a bit.
