It’s not bad. The stadium could be expanded but they have no room. They have good crowds good food and atmosphere. I’ll be there for our series

Was just talking about that with a buddy. Absolute trash of a field. Just wait till we play them there. Chance and Teel will destroy that turf with ground ball singles

Trash turf field in the middle of a metropolis. Schloss's first order of biz should have been to plow that crap up. But he is gays, so...

Don't go pumping your chest too much. Their pitching staff is the best in the league.

They do have the Yeti Yard next to the bullpen where their fans can sit, drink and watch the game with yeti coolers laying around.

The facade of the stadium is impressive. The interior of the stadium reminds me of a slightly larger Tim McCarver stadium in Memphis.

The whole field is artificial.
does the University of Texas baseball stadium have any natural grass or dirt in either the infield or outfield.

No, the University of Texas baseball stadium (UFCU Disch-Falk Field) does not have any natural grass or traditional dirt in the infield or outfield.

en.wikipedia.org
The entire playing surface (infield and outfield) is FieldTurf (a type of artificial/synthetic turf), which has been in place since the major renovation around 2008–2009 (with replacements since then, including in 2016). This replaced earlier AstroTurf installations that dated back to the stadium's opening in 1975. The only natural dirt element is the pitcher's mound, which is excluded from the turf surface.

en.wikipedia.org
  • There is a brown-colored turf strip along the outfield wall that mimics the look of a warning track, but it is the same synthetic material as the rest of the field (not actual dirt or loose material).

    statesman.com
  • The stadium has never had natural grass as its primary surface in the modern era (post-1975); there was a brief period of natural grass in the late 1990s/early 2000s before returning to synthetic turf, but the current setup is fully artificial.

    texaslonghorns.com
As of early 2026, Texas athletics has no plans to switch to natural grass, even though the current turf is nearing the end of its typical lifespan (around 8–9 years) and coach Jim Schlossnagle has expressed interest in potentially changing it. Any future replacement is expected to remain turf for now.

This all-turf design is relatively unusual in college baseball (many programs use grass outfields with dirt infields or skinned areas), but it has been a consistent feature at Disch-Falk Field for drainage, durability, and maintenance reasons in Austin's climate.

Baseball should be played on grass & dirt only. No exceptions.

The 1989 team (arguably the best lineup in school history) said the same thing and look how that turned out. . . .We're really good but there's a long way to go. . . . . .We're only in the 3rd week of SEC play with the hardest stretch of games yet to come and some of you are anointing us the '27 Yankees. . . . .SMMFH. . . . .
