Based on the last time I watched Iowa in an Elite Eight game, our lead is about 20 points lower than it needs to be.p for us to hold on.

But I’m not going to complain about being ahead at the half!
Could just be perception, but this was the first game where Stirtz SEEMED a bit fatigued.

lets see how we come out after Ben chews some @$$ at half time
Strictly my uninformed opinion...I don't think he does chew ***...today. I think there are times when the "whip" is called for and there are times when "hugs" carry the day.

I think today's halftime message is more on the encouragement spectrum. A good leader, which McCollum is, reads the situation and "inspires" accordingly. Jusy my opinion.

Go Hawks!! They are definitely in this.

I’ll give Howard a lot of credit for his D. If he could hit an open 3 or two it would be a huge bonus.
It's kind of a rob Peter to pay Paul situation. Howard not much of a threat on O, but he has the ability to limit one of their threats on O.... effectively making it a 4-on-4 game when he's in there.

Here's hoping we get a really big half by Folgers to keep that 'Iowa is 1_-1 when AF scores double-digits' stat of his alive.

0 points right now, right?

Need a big half from him and Coop both, while keeping Stirtz and Sage going as well.

Banks could stand to chip in a bit more as well, if he wanted to.

I'd be surprised if Stirtz gets much space in the 2nd half.
Where did you see Illinois sagging off Stirtz in that first half? I have a strange feeling Stirtz might have been mentioned once or twice on Illinois’s scouting report, but I have been wrong before. Frankly, I think Stirtz should get credit for playing through a lot of physicality and dictating tempo.

You are absolutely right Iowa needs to get more offensively from guys like AF and Koch.

Agreed. Right now he’s not keeping ILL honest when they’re on D. They’re doubling off him every time. Howard doesn’t necessarily need to score he just needs his man to stay honest, which would most likely take scoring.
