Hometown hero…legacy program…solid facilities…Lehigh is surprisingly competitive in recruiting PA/NJ talentI mean he did originally choose to go to Lehigh.. they are far removed from their glory days of being a top program in wrestling.

Thanks for the update Bill.He wants a school for law school so we don’t have that as it is at Newark Rutgers. Plus he will need a lot of money which I doubt we have. We have contacted him anyway.
How was Lehigh’s?He’ll probably want to go to a team that has a good coaching staff… can’t blame him.
Santoro, Dillan, Ray, Vincenzo Joseph. How was Lehigh’s?
Graduating Stanford in 3 years while wrestling is insane.2x AA Tyler Knox in the portal as a grad transfer. Stanford really may lose 3-4 real high end guys
Imagine Knox and Knox to start it off… lol but in all seriousness if Stanford could retain all their guys they could be a trophy contender team.2x AA Tyler Knox in the portal as a grad transfer. Stanford really may lose 3-4 real high end guys
While it would be nice to land T. Knox(depending on the price) and Knox&Knox would be super sweet, objectively, it would not surprise me if T.Knox doesn’t AA his final 2 years wherever he lands.Tyler Knox is from the northeast. Only a few hours from NJ![]()
Yep he’s clearly an upgrade. Def would be happy to have Knox & Knox.. it always depend on resource price if worth it.If his ceiling is low end AA and his floor is R16 I’d gladly sign up for that. Right now our projected starter is either Smith who I like but was a smaller 125, or Mason Gibson who was .500 wrestler as a backup last year wrestling mostly in open tournaments.
I would say money.. all transfers are looking for cash. What is Knox looking for in a graduate school?
Of course these are all pipe dreams, but hey, i will dream on
only one which makes sense coming in would be ungar. we are pretty set at 65 (barbosa or Ford) and 84 (SCW). Unless Hansen or Rodgers plan to go 174 I dont see the value3 Cornell guys . Unger , Hansen and Rodgers all visited Rutgers and Maryland last week and are meeting with some other big 10 schools this week
Are we truly set at 84? There is room for improvement with an upgrade based on what we saw this year. Are Hansen/Rodgers any better than SCW?only one which makes sense coming in would be ungar. we are pretty set at 65 (barbosa or Ford) and 84 (SCW). No clue. Maybe they take summer and winter courses. Not to take anything away from these kids because they are obviously great student-athletes, but there must be some Stanford angle that explains how many wrestlers graduating in 3 years. Do they train and take classes during the summers instead of coming back East?
Stanford doesn’t do traditional semesters. They divide their school year into quarters which makes graduating earlier a possibility if you take classes during all 4 quarters. Not to take anything away from these kids because they are obviously great student-athletes, but there must be some Stanford angle that explains how many wrestlers graduating in 3 years. Wonder what chaos will happen tomorrow… especially it’s also on April fools dayAnother guy with NJ ties. Portal opens tomorrow
Depending on the asking price, Fuggit would be a nice pickup… 4th as a freshman and lost in OT to Stanford’s Knox at nationals this year… think they are bout on same lvl.. wouldn’t shock me if he was one of those guys that freshman AA and not again or not shocking if he gets back on either.Santiello transfers to Oklahoma where he was originally committed
Rivera and Fuggit 125 and 133 for Wisconsin hit the portal
Star freshman Zepada from nc state (Knox only high school lose) is in the portal
Not sure if accurate but wrestlestat has Zepeda dropping from 157 to 141. Would be a huge get for any team but we have an opening if he can make the cut.Santiello transfers to Oklahoma where he was originally committed

He'll have plenty of suitors but would love him at 149 as I assume Brandt will go 141. I'd be happy with Fuggit at 133 as well. A quality heavyweight is the most important hole to fill we'll see who ends up entering the portal. Not sure if accurate but wrestlestat has Zepeda dropping from 157 to 141. That's odd with how OU held him hostage and wouldn't release him initially. Done deal?Santiello transfers to Oklahoma where he was originally committed

No offense to the kid, but great example of recruiting misses: 3X OH state champ 223-12 record. Have to believe OSU would have grabbed him if he was B1G worthy.Max Hermes enters the portal
He wasn’t a miss, Rutgers had almost no plans to make him a starter. He was a low risk depth recruit. No offense to the kid, but great example of recruiting misses: 3X OH state champ 223-12 record. Have to believe OSU would have grabbed him if he was B1G worthy.
Don’t look at just state titles.. I don’t think he was a top 200 recruit going in to college..No offense to the kid, but great example of recruiting misses: 3X OH state champ 223-12 record. Have to believe OSU would have grabbed him if he was B1G worthy.
I don’t think a kid with that HS career was looked at as a low risk depth recruit with no plans as a starter. He just didn’t develop or pan out.He wasn’t a miss, Rutgers had almost no plans to make him a starter. He was a low risk depth recruit.
he was supposed to be a 125 lifer, but never wrestled a match at 125I don’t think a kid with that HS career was looked at as a low risk depth recruit with no plans as a starter. He just didn’t develop or pan out.
Hermes was recruited as a 125/133 on a team that already had Peterson and Shawver. He was never going to be a starter here. His best chance was to find a higher weight class which isn’t really the best option for smaller guys.I don’t think a kid with that HS career was looked at as a low risk depth recruit with no plans as a starter.
