Tenn was a matchup problem for them. ISU didn’t have any bigs and also weren’t hitting 3’s like they were all year.

I’m actually really enjoying watching Arizona. One of the most fun teams I’ve watched in a long time. Skilled, deep, and efficient. I don’t see a weakness in them. I say this and Purdue will blow them out lol

42/18 rebounding advantage solves a lot. Having Ament being able to score on demand is also a huge plus for Tennessee. Not only has Barnhardt put Kentucky basketball in a terrible situation, he's also made it nearly impossible to get out. Had Kentucky not had to pay stoops 30+ million maybe things are different but there's no desire to pay another bailout right now. If Pope reaches the sweet 16 every now and then, he basically has a lifetime contract at Kentucky. New AD must address this immediately, if this auto extension was for the elite 8 then it's bearable but sweet 16 is not Kentucky basketball standards, well it didn't used to be.

People need to stop with this line of outdated bunk. Nobody today sees us as their “Super Bowl.” Those days have passed. Hell, today’s players can’t even remember ever seeing UK in a final four …and they pick their teams on purely transactional financial grounds …so they’re not gonna see any special significance in playing UK.
Iowa State kicked our *** because they’re simply a far better team, and because we had no guards capable of handling their pressure defense. Period. It had nothing to do with the UK uniform.
From 10,000' this team looked broken and divided. It was a terrible fit and I don't think these kids liked each other.
But, there were games where, collectively, they decided to bond with each other and play like a team.
The 2 UT games and the Arkansas game showed us that this team could be pretty good, but it looks to me like they could never get past whatever it was that happened prior to the UL game.
I agree. Any tournament that we are not in, is terrible. I see more terrible tournaments on the way. Unless.......

In your face defenses? According to Kenpom defensive efficiency rankings:
Illinois: 21st
Purdue: 36th
Iowa: 32nd
UK was 28th
Houston was 4th, lost to Illinois.
Our defense was good enough, our offense is rated 41st, but against a defense that pressures the ball (Georgia did that to us too), we look like we should be ranked 141st.
And the guy that is responsible for putting us in this position, got a raise to go recline back in an office chair.

What we saw in the tournament, we saw all season from Iowa St. On any given night they could blow out anybody. They beat Purdue at Purdue by 23. The beat KU by 18 and then turned around and lost to KU by 21. They lost to BYU by 10 and TTU by 9. Then they beat TTU by 22. They weren't as inconsistent as we were but they were inconsistent.

ISU slso got a very favorabel whistle. Againt UT they were not allowd to bump, hold, and grab all game like it was with us.
